When awareness meets action, change begins.

We successfully organized a Community Awareness Programme on Child Rights and Child Protection Laws in collaboration with Gurugram Police, at community near JMD bringing together children, parents, and community members to strengthen collective responsibility towards child safety.

We were honoured to be joined by Additional SHO, Sector 65 Police Station, Shri Vinod Ji, and SI Shri Vijay Ji, who shared valuable insights on the POCSO Act, Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act. They emphasized that every child deserves a safe childhood, access to education, and protection from all forms of exploitation.

The session also highlighted CHETNA's ongoing efforts to promote child rights, quality education, and child protection through community-based interventions.

What made the programme truly impactful was the open dialogue that followed. Parents and community members actively participated, raised their concerns, and received practical guidance from the police officers. These conversations reinforced an important message protecting children is not the responsibility of one institution alone; it is a shared commitment of families, communities, schools, civil society, and law enforcement.

With the enthusiastic participation of 80 community members, including 30тАУ40 children, the programme reflected the power of collaboration in creating informed, empowered, and child-friendly communities.

Every conversation creates awareness. Every informed parent protects a child. Every educated child builds a stronger future.

ЁЯМ▒ Celebrating 24 Years of Badhte Kadam Sangh тАУ Empowering Children, Inspiring Change! ЁЯТЪ

The 24th Foundation Day of Badhte Kadam Sangh was celebrated with immense joy and enthusiasm across our five Alternative Education Centres in Jaipur, alongside the incredible children who continue to inspire us every day.

A special highlight of the celebration was the "Champion Tree (Sankalp Vriksh)" activity, where children identified the Child Champion role they aspire to become based on their interests and strengths. They proudly wrote and displayed their pledges for the coming year, committing themselves to themes such as education, reading, sports, health and hygiene, environmental protection, equality, and child rights.

The celebration also provided a meaningful space for children to reflect on their journeys, sharing how their lives have transformed since becoming part of Badhte Kadam Sangh. Their heartfelt stories, combined with their energetic performance of the "Badhte Kadam" song, filled the day with hope, pride, and celebration.

More than a celebration, the event reinforced our commitment to nurturing leadership, responsibility, self-confidence, and active community participation among children, empowering them to become confident changemakers for a brighter and more inclusive future.

ЁЯТЩ Together, we continue to take Badhte Kadam towards a world where every child can learn, lead, and thrive.

Strengthening Child Protection Through Awareness and Collaboration

CHETNA, in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) and Child Helpline 1098, successfully conducted Child Protection Awareness Sessions at Sarojini Nagar and Lajpat Nagar, empowering children with essential knowledge on their rights, safety, and protection.

The sessions were facilitated by Mr. Deepak from DCPU and Mr. Nitesh (Case Worker) from the Child Helpline team. A total of 55 children (23 boys and 32 girls), aged 8тАУ16 years, along with their parents, actively participated in the programme.

During the session, children were introduced to Child Helpline 1098, India's free 24├Ч7 emergency helpline for children, and learned how and when to seek help for protection and support.

The awareness programme also covered:
ЁЯФ╣ POCSO Act, 2012
ЁЯФ╣ Good Touch and Bad Touch
ЁЯФ╣ Child Rights
ЁЯФ╣ Personal Safety and Reporting Mechanisms

To make the learning interactive, children participated in a drawing activity on "Good Touch тАУ Bad Touch," creatively expressing their understanding of safe and unsafe touch. An engaging question-and-answer session at the end helped assess their learning, with children enthusiastically responding and demonstrating a strong understanding of the topics discussed.

By equipping children with knowledge and encouraging open conversations, we are helping create safer communities where every child knows their rights, understands how to stay safe, and feels empowered to seek support when needed.

Health Camp for a Healthier Future!

Today, a health camp was successfully conducted at the Nimtala and Basayi mandi Community and ERC Chakkarpur, reaching over 150+ children. The camp focused on promoting children's health and well-being through comprehensive general health check-ups conducted by a qualified doctor.

Children received medical consultations, necessary medicines based on their health conditions, and referrals for further treatment wherever required. Beyond treatment, the session also emphasized the importance of maintaining good hygiene, adopting healthy eating habits, and taking proactive care of one's health.

Through such initiatives, we continue to work towards ensuring that every child has access to essential healthcare and the knowledge needed to lead a healthier life.
