When awareness meets action, change begins.
We successfully organized a Community Awareness Programme on Child Rights and Child Protection Laws in collaboration with Gurugram Police, at community near JMD bringing together children, parents, and community members to strengthen collective responsibility towards child safety.
We were honoured to be joined by Additional SHO, Sector 65 Police Station, Shri Vinod Ji, and SI Shri Vijay Ji, who shared valuable insights on the POCSO Act, Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act. They emphasized that every child deserves a safe childhood, access to education, and protection from all forms of exploitation.
The session also highlighted CHETNA's ongoing efforts to promote child rights, quality education, and child protection through community-based interventions.
What made the programme truly impactful was the open dialogue that followed. Parents and community members actively participated, raised their concerns, and received practical guidance from the police officers. These conversations reinforced an important message protecting children is not the responsibility of one institution alone; it is a shared commitment of families, communities, schools, civil society, and law enforcement.
With the enthusiastic participation of 80 community members, including 30тАУ40 children, the programme reflected the power of collaboration in creating informed, empowered, and child-friendly communities.
Every conversation creates awareness. Every informed parent protects a child. Every educated child builds a stronger future.
