APEI's Journey of Life 2– A Dominant Step Forward in Promotion of Hispanism in India
The Association of Teachers of Spanish in India (APEI) celebrated a landmark moment with Journey of Life - 2, the International Theatrical Showcase that connected India and the Hispanic world. Held on 5 November 2025 at the CD Deshmukh Auditorium, India International Centre (IIC), Lodhi Road, New Delhi, the event was organized in collaboration with five Hispanic nations—Bolivia, Cuba, El Salvador, Spain, and Venezuela—and supported by embassies, cultural centers, and leading Indian institutions. The edition drew over 235 participants, volunteers and attendees from Delhi-NCR and Aligarh, underscoring APEI’s pivotal role as the country’s sole registered association of Spanish language teachers in India, and its growing influence in promoting Hispanism nationwide.
Journey of Life - 2 featured six diverse pieces drawn from Hispanic literature and theatre, performed by highly committed students from premier Indian schools and universities, reflecting the vibrant breadth of Hispanism in India. Participants represented Delhi Public School Noida, Ramjas School Pusa Road, Springdales School Dhaula Kuan, Aligarh Muslim University, University of Delhi, Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and Jamia Millia Islamia.
The program was directed by a distinguished team — Alfredo Caldera, Miriam Requena, and Invonne Bonillq — whose leadership ensured a cohesive, high-quality theatrical experience that bridged classroom learning and cultural expression.
Prof Gaurav Kumar, President-APEI, felicitated Prof. Minni Sawhney’s appointment as Vice President of the Asociación Internacional de Hispanistas (AIH) and Prof. Anil Dhingra’s recognition for a prestigious Hispanism Study Grant, reinforcing APEI’s commitment to advancing research and pedagogy.

In his remarks, he praised APEI for its exemplary efforts in promoting Hispanism in India and expressed best wishes for the organization’s continued expansion and broader reach. His presence underscored the event’s national significance and the cross-sector support for language education and cultural diplomacy.
