For Satyam Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, who is totally blind, the Udaan Crisis Intervention & Rehabilitation Program at NAB Sarojini Trilok Nath Home for the Blind, Dwarka became a stepping stone towards a more independent life.

Before joining, he had limited exposure to assistive technology and often lacked confidence while travelling independently. Through training in mobility, assistive technology, independent living skills, and participation in the "Cooking Without Looking" workshops, Satyam developed practical skills that transformed his daily life.

Today, he confidently uses smartphones and computers, accesses information independently, and moves around with greater freedom and self-reliance.

Joban Singh from Punjab, who is totally blind, joined NAB Sarojini Trilok Nath Home for the Blind, Dwarka with a determination to become more independent and self-reliant.

When he joined NAB Sarojini Trilok Nath Home for the Blind, Dwarka, he had little experience using technology independently. Through training in assistive technology, mobility, independent living skills, and hands-on experiences like the "Cooking Without Looking" workshops, Joban discovered new confidence and capabilities.

When Udit Kumar Nigam from Delhi joined the Udaan Crisis Intervention & Rehabilitation Program at NAB Sarojini Trilok Nath Home for the Blind, Dwarka, he had never used a smartphone, computer, or screen reader independently. Being totally blind, everyday tasks and mobility were often challenging for him.

Through assistive technology, mobility, cooking, and personality development workshops, Udit gained new skills, confidence, and greater independence. Today, he is able to use technology on his own and manage many daily tasks independently.

ЁЯМЯ Corporate Visit at NAB Delhi ЁЯМЯ

On 5th June 2026, we were delighted to welcome the Algosec Team to the National Association for the Blind (NAB Delhi).

The team interacted with our IT Unit trainees and gained insights into the various initiatives being undertaken for the empowerment of persons with visual impairments. The team also visited the Dark Room and Experience Room, where they experienced some of the daily challenges faced by visually impaired individuals.

A special highlight of the visit was their participation in our Audiobook Recording Initiative, contributing towards creating accessible learning resources for persons with visual disabilities.

We sincerely thank the Algosec Team for their time, enthusiasm, and support. Such interactions help build awareness, inclusion, and stronger community partnerships.

Foundation Stone Laid for NAB Vocational Training Centre in Narela

On 6 June 2026, the foundation stone of the NAB Vocational Training Centre, a unit of the National Association for the Blind, Delhi (NAB Delhi), was laid in a dignified ceremony held at Narela, Delhi.

The event was graced by Shri Ravinder Indraj Singh, HonтАЩble Minister for Social Welfare, SC/ST Welfare, Cooperation and Elections, Government of NCT of Delhi, who attended as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was also attended by Shri Raj Karan Khatri, MLA, Narela, whose presence added significance to the occasion.

The proposed Vocational Training Centre marks an important step towards empowering persons with visual impairment through skill development, vocational education, and livelihood opportunities. The centre aims to equip visually impaired youth with industry-relevant skills, enabling them to become self-reliant and actively participate in the workforce.

The National Association for the Blind (NAB Delhi) remains committed to creating an inclusive society and enhancing the quality of life of persons with visual impairments and multiple disabilities. This new centre is expected to open doors to greater opportunities, independence, and empowerment for countless beneficiaries in the years to come.

Raksh*t Jain from Ludhiana, Punjab, joined the Udaan Crisis Intervention & Rehabilitation Program at NAB Sarojini Trilok Nath Home for the Blind, Dwarka , with a determination to become more independent despite living with low vision due to Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP).

Through training in assistive technology, digital literacy, mobility, and rehabilitation, he learned to use computers and smartphones independently, access information with confidence, and navigate daily life more effectively.
