There are days that stay with you, days filled with laughter, small victories, and moments that quietly remind us how important it is to feel seen, accepted, and celebrated. On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day 2026, the MHP Team of Salaam Baalak Trust created one such day for children who deserve exactly that.
A special outing was organised for 21 children with special needs from Aarushi, Aasra, DMRC CHB, and Udaan homes. Accompanied by their devoted staff and caretakers, the children spent a joyful day at Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri, a space where they could simply play, express themselves freely, and enjoy the happiness of being together.
Throughout the day, the park echoed with laughter as the children eagerly participated in recreational activities, including ABT activities, games, and dancing. What made the celebration truly special was not just the activities, but the confidence, excitement, and sense of belonging that could be seen on every child’s face. In those moments, differences faded, and joy took centre stage.
Food and refreshments were lovingly arranged for everyone, ensuring that the day felt warm and festive from beginning to end. As the celebration drew to a close, each child received a goodie bags, a small but meaningful token of love, appreciation, and encouragement, reminding them that their individuality is something to be proud of.
The day ended with tired feet, happy hearts, and smiles that lingered long after the celebrations were over, a gentle reminder that when children are given acceptance, encouragement, and a little space to shine, they create moments that move us all. 💙
