A landmark moment for childhood cancer research in India.

Research has the power to change lives when it informs action.

Published in JCO Global Oncology, this landmark collaboration between AIIMS New Delhi, CanKids KidsCan, and international partners brings together three decades of childhood cancer survival evidence from across India—creating one of the most comprehensive reviews of its kind.

This work is more than a publication. It is a step towards stronger evidence, better policies, improved health systems, and ultimately, better outcomes for children with cancer.

It also reflects the strength of collaboration—bringing together researchers, clinicians, patient advocates, and global partners with one shared goal: ensuring that every child has access to timely diagnosis, quality treatment, financial protection, and the opportunity to survive and thrive.

Our sincere gratitude to Dr. Sameer Bakhshi, the AIIMS New Delhi research team, our international collaborators, and everyone who contributed to this important milestone. Research is a team effort, and its impact is shared.

Together, we continue working towards:
100% Access to Care
100% Financial Protection
At least 60% Survival by 2030.

The Bihar Promise begins today!

A landmark partnership between the Government of Bihar and CanKids KidsCan marks a significant step towards strengthening childhood cancer care across the state.

With the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding under the Change for Childhood Cancer – Bihar initiative, Bihar becomes the 10th State Government to partner with CanKids in building a stronger, more child-centred cancer care ecosystem.

This milestone carries special meaning for us. Our journey in Bihar began nearly 18 years ago at Mahavir Cancer Sansthan, Patna. What started with supporting children and families has grown into a shared commitment to ensuring that no child with cancer is left behind.

One of the most powerful moments of the day was "The Bihar Promise"—a collective pledge by government leaders, doctors, survivors, parents, partners and CanKids:

"We pledge that no child with cancer in Bihar will remain unfound, untreated, or unprotected. Together, we will build a coordinated, child-centred health system that ensures timely diagnosis, quality treatment, financial protection, comprehensive care, and a better future for every child."

Together, we reaffirm our shared vision of:

• 100% Access to Care
• 100% Financial Protection
• At least 60% Survival by 2030

Because every child deserves the opportunity not just to survive—but to thrive.

One Beat! One Smile! One Child at a Time!

Last Saturday, our Home Away From Home in Kotla echoed with something every child deserves to hear—laughter.

Friends of CanKids Abir Aggarwal and Pavit Singh Jaggi spent the day with children undergoing cancer treatment, painting buckets, creating music, and reminding every child that they are never alone.

These moments of joy are more than an activity—they are a powerful part of healing.

Every contribution to the You Are Not Alone campaign helps CanKids provide holistic care, including counselling, nutrition, accommodation, diagnostics, education, and family support for children with cancer.

💛 Together, let's keep the rhythm going.

Learning becomes even more meaningful when it brings joy. 💙

On 27 June 2026, our CanShala children undergoing cancer treatment enjoyed a memorable educational outing to the Paradox Museum, CSMT, Mumbai.

Surrounded by mind-bending illusions, interactive exhibits, and hands-on experiences, the children explored, questioned, discovered, and most importantly, had fun beyond the classroom and hospital environment.

The outing sparked curiosity, encouraged creative thinking, strengthened friendships, and created cherished memories. It also offered the children a refreshing break from their treatment journey—nurturing confidence, resilience, and hope through the power of joyful learning.

A special thank you to the volunteers from Deutsche Bank, who joined us throughout the visit. Their warmth, enthusiasm, and support helped ensure every child enjoyed a safe, engaging, and memorable experience.

Together, we continue creating moments where every child has the opportunity to learn, laugh, and simply be a child. 💛

A child's journey through cancer is never walked alone.

Behind every diagnosis, every treatment, every difficult day, there are doctors who choose compassion alongside clinical care. They reassure anxious parents, encourage frightened children, celebrate every milestone, and continue to stand beside families through every step of the journey.

Across CanKids centres and partner hospitals, our children, survivors, parents, and teams came together to celebrate Doctors' Day with handmade cards, heartfelt messages, smiles, and gratitude. It was our way of saying thank you to the people who make hope possible every single day.

To every paediatric oncologist, surgeon, physician, nurse, and healthcare professional who has cared for our children—thank you for your dedication, your kindness, and your unwavering commitment.

Happy Doctors' Day.

Together, let's do Cancer Ko Dhishoom Dhishoom.

Strengthening Nursing Care. Improving Childhood Cancer Outcomes!

CanKids KidsCan, in collaboration with the Department of Pediatric Surgical Superspecialties, SGPGIMS, Lucknow, successfully organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on "Nursing Care in Childhood Cancer" on 27 June 2026!

The programme brought together nursing professionals and healthcare experts to strengthen knowledge, clinical skills, and confidence in delivering comprehensive paediatric oncology care.

The CME was inaugurated by Dr. Devendra Gupta Chief Medical Superintendent, and Dr. Rajesh Harshvardhan, Medical Superintendent, SGPGIMS, who emphasized the indispensable role nurses play in ensuring safe, compassionate, and holistic care for children with cancer.

The scientific sessions covered essential aspects of childhood cancer care, including diagnosis, chemotherapy protocols, safe chemotherapy administration, management of treatment-related complications, infection prevention, nutrition, psychosocial support, and effective communication with children and families.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the distinguished faculty from SGPGIMS, KGMU, Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Hospital, and other leading institutions for sharing their expertise and practical insights.

At CanKids KidsCan, we believe that empowering healthcare professionals through continuous learning strengthens the quality of care delivered to every child with cancer. Together, we continue building a stronger, more compassionate healthcare system for children and their families.
