The National Level Standard Judging Camp for Scouts & Guides and Rovers & Rangers commenced at the Bharat Scouts and Guides, National Training Centre, Pachmarhi. The five-day national-level event, being held from 6 to 10 October 2026, brings together 368 young participants from 14 States, along with 15 staff members.

The first day began with registration at 9:00 AM, followed by the Flag Ceremony, Integration Session and Opening Ceremony, setting the tone for a week of learning, teamwork, discipline and healthy competition. The evening came alive with the Campfire Competition, where participants showcased their creativity, confidence and team spirit.

The camp is coordinated by Shri Arup Sarkar, Deputy Director of Scouts (Leader Training), with the support of Camp Leaders Ms Jesmine Mistry, LT(G), and Shri Subrata Barai, LT(S) & ALT(R), along with other dedicated trainers and staff members.

Over the next few days, young Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers will represent their respective States and demonstrate their skills in Camp Craft, First Aid, Pioneering, Mapping, Campfire, Backwoods Cooking, Flag Ceremony, B.P. Six Exercise/Yoga and Colour Party. The competitions are being conducted separately for Scouts & Guides and Rovers & Rangers.

The coming days will witness a vibrant display of skill, teamwork, leadership, discipline and the true spirit of Scouting and Guiding. The camp will conclude on 10 October 2026.

BSG Saudi Arabia Officials Meet Indian Ambassador in Riyadh

Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: The Overseas District Association of the Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chief Commissioner Dr. Shameer Babu and Secretary Dr. Bino Mathew met the Patron of the BSG Saudi Arabia, H.E. Shri Vipul, India's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the Indian Embassy in Riyadh.

The Ambassador fondly recalled his own school days as a Scout and shared his experiences and memories of the Scout movement. He appreciated the active and effective functioning of BSG Saudi Arabia and its efforts to promote discipline, leadership, service, teamwork, and character development among Indian youth in the Kingdom.

H.E. Ambassador also appreciated the association's efforts to maintain good relations with the Saudi Arabian Scout Association and to conduct its activities in accordance with the applicable rules, regulations, and policies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The BSG Saudi Arabia officials expressed their gratitude to the Ambassador for his valuable time, encouragement, and continued support for the development of scouting and youth activities in the Kingdom.

रायपुर, 2 अक्टूबर 2026: छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य भारत स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट एवं वार्षिक पत्रिका ‘प्रयास’ का विमोचन 2 अक्टूबर 2026 को रायपुर स्थित बलबीर सिंह जुनेजा इंडोर स्टेडियम में आयोजित भव्य सर्वधर्म प्रार्थना सभा के दौरान किया गया। इस अवसर पर प्रदेशभर से लगभग 10,000 स्काउट्स, गाइड्स, रोवर्स एवं रेंजर्स उपस्थित रहे। समारोह में छत्तीसगढ़ शासन के शिक्षा मंत्री एवं भारत स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स, छत्तीसगढ़ के अध्यक्ष श्री गजेंद्र यादव मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित रहे।

इस अवसर पर राज्य मुख्य आयुक्त श्री इंदरजीत सिंह खालसा ने कहा कि पिछले एक वर्ष में छत्तीसगढ़ स्काउटिंग ने अनेक महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धियां हासिल की हैं। प्रथम राष्ट्रीय रोवर-रेंजर जंबूरी की मेजबानी से लेकर लखनऊ में आयोजित 19वीं राष्ट्रीय स्काउट-गाइड जंबूरी में प्रभावशाली सहभागिता तक, राज्य ने राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर अपनी मजबूत उपस्थिति दर्ज कराई है। उन्होंने कहा कि संगठन ने स्काउटिंग को आधुनिक समय की आवश्यकताओं से जोड़ने तथा युवाओं के लिए इसे अधिक प्रासंगिक और प्रभावी बनाने की दिशा में भी महत्वपूर्ण पहल की है।

Raipur, 2 October 2026: The official website and annual magazine ‘Prayas’ of the Chhattisgarh State Bharat Scouts and Guides were launched on 2 October 2026 during a grand Sarva Dharma Prarthana Sabha (All Faiths Prayer Meeting) held at the Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium, Raipur. Around 10,000 Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers from across the state attended the programme. Shri Gajendra Yadav, Education Minister, Government of Chhattisgarh, and President, Chhattisgarh Bharat Scouts and Guides, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Smt. Lakshmi Verma, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, and State Vice-President, presided over the programme. Held under the guidance of Shri Inderjeet Singh Khalsa, State Chief Commissioner, Chhattisgarh, the event was attended by several distinguished dignitaries, including Shri Motilal Sahu, MLA, Raipur Rural; Shri Rajiv Agrawal, Chairman, Industrial Development Corporation; Shri Sanjay Srivastava, Chairman, State Civil Supplies Corporation; Shri Chundilal Sahu, former Member of Parliament and Chairman, State Warehousing Corporation; Shri Chandrahas Chandrakar, Chairman, Seed Corporation; Dr. Varnika Sharma, Chairperson, Child Protection Commission; Shri Amarjeet Singh Chhabra, Chairman, Minority Commission; and Shri Anjay Shukla, Vice-Chairman, Medicinal Plants Board, along with other public representatives, office-bearers of the organisation and distinguished guests.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by the traditional welcome of the guests with Scouts and Guides scarves. During the Sarva Dharma Prarthana Sabha, prayers from different faiths were presented collectively, conveying a strong message of harmony, peace, unity and mutual respect.

On the occasion, Shri Inderjeet Singh Khalsa, State Chief Commissioner, highlighted the significant achievements of Chhattisgarh Scouting during the past year. From hosting the 1st National Rover-Ranger Jamboree to making an impressive contribution at the 19th National Scout and Guide Jamboree held in Lucknow, the State has established a strong presence at the national level. He also emphasised the initiatives undertaken to connect Scouting with the requirements of the modern era and make it more relevant and effective for young people.

The launch of the official website and annual magazine ‘Prayas’ marks an important step towards the digital transformation and institutional development of the Chhattisgarh State Bharat Scouts and Guides, while providing a wider platform to showcase its activities, achievements and initiatives.

As part of the Gandhi Jayanthi observance, the Scouts and Guides of TN Shree Niketan Group of School, Vengambakkam, participated in a meaningful tree-planting and environmental responsibility activity. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Scout Master Mr. B. Sathya Moorthy and Guide Captain Ms. S. Catherine.
The students actively participated in planting a sapling and learned the importance of protecting nature and increasing green cover. The activity reflected Mahatma Gandhi’s values of service, responsibility, simplicity, discipline, and care for the community. It also encouraged teamwork and developed a sense of environmental responsibility among the students.
The activity conveyed the message that meaningful change begins with small actions. By planting and nurturing a tree, the students understood that caring for the environment is an important form of service to society. The programme inspired them to become responsible citizens and contribute towards a greener and sustainable future.

Under the aegis of The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Punjab, District Association Firozpur, a comprehensive cleanliness drive was organized at St. Joseph’s Convent School, Firozpur, on 2nd October 2026.
The volunteers were organized into small patrols, with each patrol assigned specific zones across the school campus and its immediate vicinity. Equipped with protective gloves, brooms, and waste-collection bags, the students diligently cleared litter from the school grounds, corridors, parking areas, and adjacent pathways.
Emphasis was placed on proper waste segregation, with single-use plastics and dry waste being separated from organic waste for appropriate disposal. Alongside the cleaning activities, the Scouts and Guides interacted with passersby and visitors, spreading awareness about civic responsibility, reduction of plastic use, and the importance of maintaining public hygiene.
The school management and officials of the District Association appreciated the dedication and enthusiasm of the participants. They highlighted that practical community service is at the core of the Scout Movement and plays an important role in fostering civic responsibility, leadership, and social awareness among young people.

On 2nd October 2026, a cleanliness drive was organized at SSD College of Professional Studies, Bhokhra, Bathinda, by the Bathinda District of The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Punjab. A total of 50 Scouts and Guides participated with commendable zeal, discipline, and community spirit.
The drive commenced with the Scout Prayer, followed by a briefing and formation of patrols assigned to different areas of the campus and its surroundings. Equipped with gloves, brooms, and waste-collection bags, the volunteers cleaned the college premises and nearby pathways, with emphasis on waste segregation and proper disposal of plastic, dry, and organic waste.
The Scouts and Guides also spread awareness among students and visitors about civic responsibility, reducing plastic use, and maintaining cleanliness and public hygiene. The college management and District Association officials appreciated their active participation and highlighted the role of community service in developing responsibility, discipline, and civic leadership among youth. The programme concluded with the Scout Promise and the National Anthem.

A total of 106 participants from the Chandigarh Region are participating in the programme. The programme is being conducted under the leadership of Shri Siddharth Mohanty, Project Officer.

The Inter-Group Rover Competition 2026 was organised by the Eastern Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides, Kanchrapara District Association at the District Training Centre, Kanchrapara, from 3rd to 4th October 2026. The competition commenced on 3rd October with assembly and flag ceremony, followed by a lottery for arena and individual subjects. The Rovers participated in pioneering, backwoodsman cooking, report making, General Knowledge and Scouting Knowledge activities. The second day began with assembly, breakfast and flag ceremony, followed by camp craft, flag ceremony competition, first aid, estimation and campfire. The event concluded with the closing ceremony, promoting teamwork, leadership, discipline, adventure and service.

उत्तर पश्चिम रेलवे राज्य भारत स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स (जयपुर मंडल) द्वारा 1 अक्टूबर 2026 को ‘स्वच्छता ही सेवा’ अभियान के अंतर्गत भव्य स्वच्छता अभियान एवं जन-जागरूकता रैली का आयोजन किया गया। कार्यक्रम का मुख्य उद्देश्य आमजन को स्वच्छता के प्रति जागरूक करना और उन्हें स्वस्थ भारत के निर्माण के लिए प्रेरित करना था।
इस दौरान माननीय अधिकारियों द्वारा श्रमदान, स्वच्छता संकल्प एवं जन-जागरूकता रैली का शुभारंभ किया गया। उत्तर पश्चिम रेलवे के महाप्रबंधक एवं स्काउट-गाइड संगठन के मुख्य संरक्षक श्री पंकज शर्मा ने हरी झंडी दिखाकर स्काउट एवं गाइड जागरूकता रैली को रवाना किया। वरिष्ठ महाप्रबंधक, मुख्य सतर्कता अधिकारी एवं राज्य मुख्य आयुक्त श्री शिवेंद्र मोहन के निर्देशन में प्रधान कार्यालय सहित सभी मंडलों से स्काउट एवं गाइड सदस्यों ने कार्यक्रम में भाग लिया।
इसके साथ ही उत्तर पश्चिम रेलवे के अजमेर, बीकानेर, जयपुर एवं जोधपुर मंडलों के विभिन्न स्थानों पर स्काउट एवं गाइड पदाधिकारियों तथा बच्चों ने उत्साहपूर्वक जागरूकता रैली में भाग लेकर इसे सफल बनाया। हाथों में प्रेरणादायी नारे और पट्टिकाएँ थामे बच्चों ने जन-जन तक स्वच्छता का संदेश पहुँचाया और नागरिकों को स्वच्छता अपनाने तथा राष्ट्र निर्माण में योगदान देने के लिए प्रेरित किया।
North Western Railway State Bharat Scouts and Guides (Jaipur Division) organized a grand cleanliness drive and public awareness rally on 1 October 2026 under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among the public about cleanliness and inspire them to contribute towards building a healthier India.
During the programme, the cleanliness drive, cleanliness pledge and public awareness rally were inaugurated with the participation of senior officials. Mr. Pankaj Sharma, General Manager, North Western Railway and Chief Patron of the Scout and Guide Organization, flagged off the Scout and Guide awareness rally. Under the guidance of Mr. Shivendra Mohan, Senior General Manager, Chief Vigilance Officer and State Chief Commissioner, Scouts and Guides from the Head Office and all divisions participated in the programme.
Scouts and Guides from various locations across the Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur and Jodhpur Divisions of North Western Railway participated enthusiastically and contributed to the success of the awareness rally. 2 Oct 2026 - : गांधी जयंती के अवसर पर स्वामी विवेकानंद प्राथमिक विद्यालय के दार्या सारंग कान्होजी आंग्रे स्काउट पथक एवं स्वराज्य सौदामिनी तारा रानी गाइड पथक की 121 स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स ने महाराष्ट्र राज्य भारत स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स के तत्वावधान में विद्यालय परिसर में स्वच्छता अभियान चलाया। विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लेते हुए विद्यालय परिसर की सफाई की और आसपास बिखरे कचरे को एकत्र किया। इस गतिविधि के माध्यम से उन्होंने सीखा कि केवल कचरा एकत्र करना ही पर्याप्त नहीं है, बल्कि उसका उचित निपटान, गीले एवं सूखे कचरे का पृथक्करण तथा संभव होने पर वस्तुओं के पुनः उपयोग और पुनर्चक्रण पर भी ध्यान देना आवश्यक है।

गाइड कैप्टन श्रीमती शीतल वाडीकर और असिस्टेंट टीचर श्रीमती सोनाली पाटिल भी इस गतिविधि में छात्रों के साथ शामिल हुईं और सफाई अभियान में सक्रिय रूप से भाग लिया। श्री बापूसाहेब गोरे (फाइनेंस डायरेक्टर, JSPM), श्री अनिरुद्ध पाटिल (कोऑर्डिनेटर) और श्री शिवाजी सूर्यवंशी (हेडमास्टर) ने छात्रों के उत्साहपूर्ण योगदान और इस पहल की सफलता के लिए उनकी सराहना की।
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October, 2026, 121 Scouts and Guides of Darya Sarang Kanhoji Angre Scout Pathak and Swarajya Saudamini Tara Rani Guide Pathak units of Swami Vivekanand Primary School, under the Maharashtra State Bharat Scouts and Guides, conducted a cleanliness drive on the school premises. The students participated enthusiastically, cleaned the campus, and collected waste scattered around the area. Through the activity, they learned that merely collecting waste is not enough; proper disposal and segregation of wet and dry waste, along with the reuse and recycling of materials wherever possible, are equally important.
Guide Captain Mrs. Sheetal Wadikar and Assistant Teacher Mrs. Sonali Patil also joined the students and actively participated in the cleanliness drive. Mr. Bapusaheb Gore (Finance Director, JSPM), Mr. Aniruddha Patil (Coordinator), and Mr. Shivaji Suryawanshi (Headmaster) appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation and contribution to the success of the initiative.
