Finding Colours, Confidence & Dreams 🎨✨

At just 15, Yashwant Reddy is steadily discovering who he wants to become.

A part of the Bridge Schoo Education program by Kat-Katha and formally studying in Class 8 at Andhra Education Society School, Yashwant spends his days exploring creativity with curiosity and confidence.

Recently, he painted an anime character simply by observing it on a laptop; a small moment that reflected patience, focus, and imagination beyond his age.

Whether it is painting, music sessions with the guitar, exercise activities, or frisbee games during the LSUC programme, Yashwant participates with enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn.

For many children, the right environment changes everything. When they are given safe spaces, encouragement, and opportunities to explore their interests, they begin to see possibilities for themselves that once felt distant.

Sometimes, all children need is an opportunity… and people who believe in them while they learn to believe in themselves. ❤️

Last week at our Bridge School, around 10 children sat huddled together around a tiny 13-inch laptop watching Jurassic Park. The room was dark, the screen was small, but nobody looked away for even a second. 🎬✨

What we thought would be a simple movie day slowly became something much more beautiful.

The children kept pausing the film to ask questions, share theories, and talk about the characters like they personally knew them. Then came the dinosaurs, and suddenly the room was full of facts, debates, and excitement. They started naming dinosaurs, correcting each other, and even teaching us things we didn’t know.

Somewhere in between, the line between teacher and learner disappeared. For a while, they were teaching and we were simply listening.

It reminded me how special childhood really is. Give children a small room, one laptop, and something that sparks their curiosity, and they create a world of their own around it. ❤️

Watching Shabnam didi and Meena didi sit together and study feels really special. Life has already taught them a lot. Still, they chose to start learning again, this time for themselves.

The small words in their notebooks may look simple, but for them, they are the beginning of something new. There is a little hesitation, a little fear, but also a clear desire to learn.

At this stage of life, studying is not just about books. It is about finding confidence again and believing in yourself.

With every line they write, you can see that belief coming back. Their journey shows that change takes time, but it does happen. And more than anything, it reminds you that it is never too late to begin again.

At Dream Village, these small steps slowly come together to build a new life. Sometimes, just deciding to try again is the biggest step.

Sometimes we plan things and sometimes the universe has a different plan.

Today we didn’t plan to post anything. At Kat-Katha we believe every day is a day to celebrate women, so why just one?

But the universe had its own timing.

A podcast we had shot months ago, and which was supposed to release earlier, suddenly got released today. The host messaged this morning saying, “We’ve released it today, on a day that celebrates womanhood.”

And somehow, that feels perfect.

This documentary is very special to us. Usually when people come to interview at Kat-Katha, the Didis hesitate and often say no.
But that day was different.

Everyone said yes.
They spoke openly.
Even the children shared their voices.

It felt like a moment of freedom, a moment where they were ready to tell their stories to the world.

Yes, the stories are painful.
But when the climax is inspiring, the story is worth listening to.
