The community was formed after a group of music enthusiasts met at Indian Coffee House to discuss the problems faced by music enthusiasts in Delhi. The meeting comprised of about 37 people which included 14 bands, many photographers, artists and writers. The bands currently a part of Delhi Underground Legion or DUL include:
