Dr. Markandey Rai, on World Hand Washing Day, coincides with the birthday of former president of A.P.J Abdul Kalam. This morning was given on the request from the Multi-Faith Action Coordination Committee (MFACC). Which was established in coordination with UNICEF India, Wash Water & GIWA Program of Parmarth Niketan Rishikesh. To address the serious concern of malnutrition in children in India & for the holistic development, which includes physical, mental & spiritual development.
This World Hand Washing Day is celebrated every year on the 15th of October to create awareness about the importance of hand washing, especially before eating food.

GPF India Chairperson Dr. Markandey Rai attended the 65th World Statistics Congress at the World Forum in The Hague, The Netherlands, from 5th to 9th October 2025, was a truly enriching experience. In The Hague, Dr. Rai had the privilege of attending the congress and taking a photo with Prof. Nalini Ravishankar, newly elected President of ISI, and Prof. Satya. It was a pleasure reconnecting with old friends and colleagues, exchanging insights, and engaging in thought-provoking discussions. The congress provided an excellent platform to strengthen professional ties, foster collaboration, and celebrate shared commitments toward advancing the field of statistics.
