“As audiences today drift towards television, movies and social media; Reading and writing stories and the art of storytelling are gradually fading into oblivion. Delhi Karavan which began as a journey of passion and pride in the rich heritage and culture of Delhi, today is a traveller with a bag full of stories gathered from all over India. The Karavan walks through the alleys and bylanes of sto

ries, known and unknown; unraveling the places and faces behind political struggles, myths and mysticism, legendary lovetales, literature and folklore, monuments and soulful poetry. Delhi Karavan believes that by sharing stories we are preserving our pride in our past. Delhi Karavan organizes history and literature based baithaks (storytelling events), karavans (walks) and daawats (food walks), workshops and customised heritage walks.”

Walking along the 14th-century Siri Fort wall, it was difficult not to imagine the city as it once was. Above us, the amaltas trees swayed gently in the evening light. Thank you to all our musafirs for walking with us. 🍁

Last weekend's walk through Tarababad reminded us how quietly history survives within the everyday landscape of the city. Amidst the lanes of Green Park and Hauz Khas, we traced the rise of this once-thriving Sultanate settlement under the Khiljis and Tughluqs, and reflected on its decline after Taimur’s invasion reshaped the course of Delhi’s history. We ended the evening with an unhurried walk around the royal lake at Hauz Khas....the evening light settling softly on the water as the city slowed around us.

Last weekend we visited the Mutiny Memorial to remember a city caught between rebellion and empire. The stones of the Northern Ridge still carry echoes of 1857 — the siege, the bloodshed, the resistance, and a Delhi forever changed.

Thank you to all our musafirs for joining us on the Twilight Heritage Walk at the Qutb Minar complex. As dusk settled and the monument slowly lit up, it was a pleasure to unpack its many layers of history together. Grateful for your presence and company, until next time! ✨

Our last walk was not just about the stories we shared. It was the atmosphere around us that created the perfect condition for our walk at Jahapanah: a dramatic sky, the moon's slow emergence, a quiet glimpse of the Qutub Minar standing tall at a distance....and somewhere along the way, a peacock crossed our path. 🦚

Last Saturday we met at the Baagh-e-Azeem for a slow walk and to share stories from the past around peace, love, and harmony, as we continue to live in more troubled times and a divided world. The walk ended with an iftar on the lawns of the Sunder Nursery. Over the past weeks, these iftars have unfolded in some of the most unexpected corners of the city - a humble chai ki tapri, a 14th-century dam, and a parking lot - each place turning into a space of conversation, commensality and companionship, all of which evoke a sense of belonging and togetherness. Thank you for all your love and warmth. We wish you happy festivities. ✨

When roads traversing centuries of history finally converged at Qila‑e‑Kuhnaa, the unusual heat of the afternoon gradually softened into the gentle calm of a spring evening. The atypical Iftar in the parking area, filled with simple joy of sharing the moment, made it even more lively.
May your soul always feel the warmth of an eternal spring...🍁
