It is easy to love the strong; it takes a heart to love the weak. In the name of superiority we are racist in our own land. We ill-treat animals everywhere, on the streets, in the zoos, we literally treat them as beasts of burden though we shouldn't generalise, and this is the 90% of us. The 10% is still not good enough to inspire the mass of this land. Is inclusivity so big a word that it is so hard to be practised? Enactus is about empowering people by improving their livelihood and enabling progress. Here at Motilal Nehru College, we have taken an initiative to help the ‘Desi dogs’ or how people like to call them- Stray dogs. The grail of ‘PROJECT PARIVARTAN’ is not only to help dogs but also to bring a change in the livelihood of the human community by giving a platform where they can become entrepreneurs. With the help of the human community, we sell handmade dog collars and leashes. A part of the proceeds of these sales is given to the producers and the rest is invested in the welfare of the dogs in their medical and general needs. Everyone comes here only by their volition and that sustains the motivation of the team. Our satisfaction is not from the sales figure but it is from the joy and contentment that we see in the eyes of the ones who now enjoy an independent life and are our budding entrepreneurs. The encouragement to take this project to greater heights is a result of the appreciation we get from the ones we help.
