60+ Women’s Groups Petition MPs Ahead of Special Parliamentary Session

On the eve of the Special Parliamentary Session (April 16-18, 2026), representatives from over 60 women’s organizations and social movements will address a press conference to release a joint petition and hear from Members of Parliament. With over 500 signatories—including prominent activists, academics, and justice advocates—petitioners urge that the issues of expansion of legislatures and delimitation be postponed and the session focus on amendments to the 2023 Women's Reservation Act.

टुगेदर फॉर ट्रैंक्विलिटी (Together for Tranquility) भारत में विविधता और जेंडर विविध समुदायों के साथ काम करने वाले नागरिक समाज संगठनों का एक नेटवर्क है। यह पहल महिलाओं, LGBTQIA+ व्यक्तियों, दिव्यांग जनों, दलितों, आदिवासियों, युवा नेताओं, जमीनी स्तर के संगठनों और सभी हाशिए पर मौजूद समुदायों को एक इंद्रधनुषी गठबंधन (Rainbow Coalition) के रूप में एक साथ लाती है।

इसी पहल के माध्यम से हम दुनिया भर से अपने साथी यात्रियों (Fellow Travelers) को हार्दिक आमंत्रण देते हैं कि वे अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस 2026 के अवसर पर आवाज़ों, अनुभवों और एकजुटता के इस विशेष ऑनलाइन मिलन में हमारे साथ शामिल हों।

ऐसे समय में जब संघर्ष, विभाजन और अनिश्चितता सीमाओं के पार लोगों के जीवन को प्रभावित कर रहे हैं, एक साथ आना, अपनी बात कहना, एक-दूसरे को सुनना और शांति के लिए खड़ा होना और भी अधिक महत्वपूर्ण हो जाता है। यह कार्यक्रम दुनिया के विभिन्न हिस्सों से समान सोच रखने वाले लोगों को एक मंच पर लाएगा, जहाँ वे अपनी यात्राएँ, जीवन के अनुभव, संघर्ष और एक अधिक संवेदनशील तथा शांतिपूर्ण भविष्य की आशाएँ साझा करेंगे।

*Together for Tranquility* is a network of civil society organisations working across diversity and gender diverse people in India. Uniting women, LGBTQIA+ persons, persons with disabilities, Dalit’s, Adivasi’s, Youth Leaders, and Grassroots Organizational and all marginalised communities ( as a rainbow coalition ). Through this initiative we warmly invites Fellow Travelers from across the globe to come together and celebrate *International Women’s Day 2026* through a special online gathering of voices, experiences, and solidarity.
