ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information Service) is one of those essentials.
Before every departure or arrival, pilots rely on ATIS to get the latest weather, runway in use, visibility, NOTAMs, and operational updates.
While it’s primarily accessed via frequency, there are times when quick access through phone can be extremely useful — especially during planning, training, or when you’re not yet on frequency.
