Great! Aerobin composter has been set up and is aimed at producing compost in 40 days, here are a few tips to help ensure it works efficiently:

✅ Key Setup Considerations:

1. Balance Greens and Browns:

Greens: kitchen scraps, fresh grass clippings, vegetable peels.

Browns: dried leaves, shredded paper, cardboard, straw.

Aim for a rough 1:2 or 1:3 ratio (greens to browns) to balance nitrogen and carbon.

2. Chop Waste:

Cut large items into smaller pieces to speed up decomposition.

3. Moisture:

Contents should feel like a wrung-out sponge—not too dry or soggy.

Add water if it’s too dry, or more browns if it’s too wet.

4. Aeration:

The Aerobin is designed for aerobic composting, so it doesn’t need turning, but good air flow is key.

Avoid over-packing material; let air circulate.

5. Temperature:

Composting works best when the internal temperature reaches 55–65°C (131–149°F).

This also helps kill pathogens and w**d seeds.

6. Avoid These Items:

Meat, dairy, oily foods, and pet waste — they can slow composting and attract pests.

7. Check Progress:

After a few weeks, the lower layer should begin turning dark, crumbly, and earthy-smelling.

By day 40, it should have finished or nearly finished compost in the lower bin.

If everything is managed well, your Aerobin can indeed produce usable compost within 40 days — especially in warmer climates.
