SHIROMANI INSTITUTE is a non-profit organization of intellectuals, thinkers, and social workers who promote national development and research on Indian life. Founded nearly four decades ago, the Institute has held several important conferences, seminars and workshops on a variety
of subjects of great national importance. The incredible Late Shri Jagmohan Singh was the brain behind SHIROMANI INSTITUTE in the year 1977. As the Founder Secretary General, Shri Jagmohan Singh started this initiative with the purpose to honour the men and women of Indian Origin from all over the world as a gesture of popular recognition of their outstanding achievements in their chosen fields. The Shiromani Institute is now headed by Manu Jagmohan Singh, the New Secretary General. Manu Jagmohan Singh is taking forward the legacy successfully and would continue to do so with all his dynamism and enthusiastic fervor. The Bharat Shiromani Awards
Shiromani Institute initiated ‘The Bharat Shiromani Awards’ with an aim to honour individuals for their outstanding achievements in the areas of expertise and for their contribution to socio-economic development and nation building. The Awards were presented by as eminent personalities as Shri Jagjiwan Ram, Deputy Prime Minister of India-1977, Shri B.D. Hidayatullah, Vice President of India-1979, 1980, 1981, Giani Zail Singh, 7TH President of India-1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, Vice President of India-1987, 1989, 1990, Shri Balram Jakhar, Speaker of the Lok Sabha-1988, Shri Rabi Ray, 10th Speaker of Lok Sabha-1991, Shri Arjun Singh, Minister of HRD- 1992, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, President of India-1992, Shri Shivraj Patil, Speaker of Lok Sabha- 1993, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Minister of External Affairs- 1996, Shri K.R. Narayanan, President of India-2000, Shri L.K. Advani , Minister of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions-2001 and Shri I.K.
