Lotus Roots – India–Sri Lanka Art Project
Empowerment is delighted to share the successful completion of the Lotus Roots – India–Sri Lanka Artists Project, held in Sri Lanka, bringing together artists from both countries in a spirit of creativity, friendship, and cultural dialogue.
The project featured inspiring painting sessions by Indian and Sri Lankan artists, creating a vibrant space for artistic exchange. A special highlight was the visit to the studio of renowned Sri Lankan artist Senaka Senanayake, which was an enriching experience for all participating artists.
An exhibition of the works created during the camp was held at The Shoppe at City of Dreams Sri Lanka, with Rambabu, Head of the Chancellery at the Embassy of India Colombo, as the Chief Guest.
Beyond the art sessions, the artists also experienced the rich cultural and natural heritage of Sri Lanka, including a memorable visit to the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple, and moments of relaxation and inspiration at the serene beaches of Hikkaduwa and Mirissa.
The project was wonderfully managed by young artist and coordinator Riya Sharma along with Vishi, whose dedication ensured the smooth ex*****on of the program.
Empowerment extends heartfelt thanks to Mahishini Colonne for her continued support and encouragement towards this cultural collaboration.
The Lotus Roots project stands as a beautiful example of how art builds bridges between cultures and creates lasting friendships.
