Whatever happened at Jamia Millia Islamia today is an eye opener as to how character of Modicum of Muslims institution in India is fast changing. It was the first time that under protection of the administration, some staff members, tried to put an idol outside gate-13 of the Institute. Jamia & AMU are the result of sacrifice of thousands of Muslim intellectuals of that time. We must never allow the RSS stooges sitting in these places to bring harm to their glory.

“आसिफ भाई , बेटी हुई है”
“माशाल्लाह, मुबारक हो ” मैंने ख़ुशी से कहा ।

आज सुबह ही ये कॉल आया, नौशाद साहब का, सहारनपुर से। 7 जून 2024 को 23 साल के चाँद ख़ान को छत्तीसगढ़ में गाय के नाम पे क़त्ल कर दिया। चाँद की शादी नवंबर 2023 में हुई थी और उसकी बीवी प्रेगनेट थी। जब पिछले महीने हम लोग उनसे मिले थे तो पूरे परिवार में अजीब सी मायूसी थी। घर ने इकलौते कमाने वाले को हिंदुत्व नफ़रत में गवां दिया । चाँद के वालिद नौशाद से जब हमने बात की तो वो एक दुकान खोलने के लिए तैयार हो गए । एक हफ्ते में ही हमने उनकी एक दुकान भी खुलवा दी, अल्हमदुल्लिलाह ।

आज उनके घर में एक फरिश्ते की पैदाइश हुई। एक बच्ची जिसने अपने बाप को पैदाइश से पहले ही खो दिया , एक माँ जिसके साथ इस वक्त में उसका शौहर नहीं है , उनके लिए कितना मुश्किल है । ऐसे ना जाने कितने चाँद इस नफतर ने खा लिए , ना जाने कितने बच्चों से सर से बाप का साया छीन लिया । पता नहीं ये ज़ुल्म कब बंद होगा ।

The “Neighbourhood Health Initiative” is a flagship project of the Miles 2 Smile, dedicated to promoting health awareness and providing medical care in local slums. Today, we joined forces with the TPR Foundation and Shaagird Foundation to bring this initiative to life in the Kalindi Kunj Slum. Our mission was to raise awareness about the serious threats of Dengue, Malaria, and Chikungunya.

Under the compassionate guidance of Dr. Salam, our medical camp saw nearly 100 patients receive thorough examinations and essential medicines. We are immensely grateful to the volunteers from TPR, Shaagird, and Miles2Smile for their unwavering dedication and hard work in making this event a resounding success. Together, we’re making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Dear Donors, at Miles 2 Smile we believe in complete transparency & accountability of funds raised for community causes. This coming week we will publish update of all the fund utilisation of causes raised till date. Today, we begin with the cause of Sajida of Ghatmika whose husband Junaid was lynched & burnt by cow vigilantes last year. Now, not only her “Smile Shop” which is source of dignified livelihood for the family, is running well, but her sons are also getting good education in a nearby boarding school. Additionally, we are also looking after the healthcare of the family. MashaAllah, we don’t have enough words to describe how brave she has been in the fight against hate. Last week, before our regular visits, her youngest son asked for a toy car and her daughter wanted a doll. Well, we were happy to bring those. We also gave “Kurtas” for her sons, that was stitched at “Sabaat center” by women who are survivors of the Delhi Pogrom 2020. Thank you donors for making these efforts possible. We are taking these steps because of your trust and Inshaallah, we will also ensure that this bond of trust remains unbroken. Thank you for helping us restore these precious smiles through Miles2smile.

Visiting our refugee camps and talking to students of our learning centre, is like visiting the second home. The amount of love , I get here is beyond expression. These people have suffered a lot already and it feels so good to be a reason of their smiles through Miles 2 Smile. It’s just 4.5 years of our relief and rehabilitation works but feels like a decade of dedicated efforts. Few weeks back, we were able to give course books to students of the other Learning center. We will also open “Abdul Wahab Maktab” to serve as a library cm computer facility for the Center by this month.
