a more flexible, more liberal, holistic and skill-based education. Our Mission
Our goal is to bring about revolutionary, positive changes in the society by the means of education. We stand for student rights and uphold the philosophy of pragmatic, quality-based and quest-based studies. We endeavor to facilitate the integration of the disabled students into the mainstream. We aim to assist the disabled to overcome their challenges and in their need for quality education, skills, training, rehabilitation, employment and a full social and family life. We also seek to sensitize the general public towards the difficulties faced by the disabled in their day to day life. We have been increasingly involved in working with disabled students (particularly visually impaired students) and for reforms in the education system. Our various projects include-
a) Blind School:
1) Our volunteers act as scribes and tutors for numerous visually impaired students namely in the University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University and National Association for the Blind. We also help these students with their assignments and record their study material in audio formats.
2) To be able to help the visually impaired students in a greater capacity, we are associated with National Association for the Blind, R.K.Puram. We are in the process of associating with various other Blind Associations as well. b) Revolution Through Education:
1) This project advocates the working philosophy of STQ wherein we emphasize on the importance of education in our quest to bring about positive, social changes.
2) It includes presentations and research to encourage and to motivate students, to understand the system better and to advocate for much-needed reforms.
3) Each presentation includes student counseling and encouraging students to stand up for their beliefs and for positive social reforms.
4) We are also conducting a survey called “Perception towards Education” to assess the students’ take on the prevailing education system. c) Projects underway:
1) STQ library- We are developing an online and offline library consisting of audio and pdf books to aid the visually impaired students with their studies.
2) Life-skills Project- The project seeks to highlight and cater to the overall development of a student. Various aspects of the project include stress management skills, awareness about alcohol abuse and drug-addiction, learning skills and a special counseling helpline. d) Future Projects:
1) Education for all- The objective of this project is to increase the literacy rate amongst the underprivileged sections of the society. It includes free tuitions for the needy and making them aware of their rights and of various schemes running for their welfare. Our Vision
We believe that comprehensive and holistic education can revolutionize our life. STQ dreams of an ideological revolution through education which will make the world more humanitarian, more peaceful and more just. A revolution which will enable us to produce not just magnificent employees but also good human beings. A revolution which will ensure growth opportunities for all.
