Address
Qudsia Bagh, Yamuna Marg, Civil Lines, New Delhi
New Delhi 110054 The Council first started its work among children who had been displaced, lost or abandoned in the riots surrounding the Partition of India, providing them care. Over the decades, DCCW's prog

rammes have grown and diversified to cover medical services, nutrition, vocational training, adoption, rehabilitation of physically and mentally differently-able children and the provision of day care and non-formal education to the underprivileged children of Delhi and the surrounding areas. Palna is our home for abandoned, homeless and destitute children. It is possibly the most well-known programme of DCCW. Established in 1978 and located in Qudsia Bagh, Old Delhi, it is a haven of peace, security and stability for the children who come here. DCCW is licensed to do both in-country and inter-country adoptions. The Adoption Programme at Palna began in 1978 and over the last three decades we have placed over 2800 children in loving families. Healing begins with gratitude

At Ek Prayas, Janakpuri Centre, a meaningful Gratitude Meditation session led by Renu Jaiswal brought parents and Vocational Training Program students together to pause, reflect, and reconnect.

The session highlighted the link between mind and body, building awareness around psychosomatic disorders while introducing simple meditation practices for healing.

Earth Day Through Their Eyes🌍

At Palna Wee Kids, our little ones took on an Earth Day Q&A, sharing what they know about our planet and how to care for it.

From naming Earth as their home to reminding us to keep our surroundings clean, their answers were simple yet powerful. 🌱

This activity helps build awareness early, teaching children the importance of protecting our environment through small, everyday actions.

Because when we nurture responsibility young, we grow a generation that truly cares.

They’re learning. Are we listening?

From Small Steps to Big Progress

At Ek Prayas Program, Janakpuri, our Special Needs Team continues to create meaningful impact.

Rukhsana shares her son Rizaan’s journey over the past two years—once unable to sit, eat, or respond to daily cues, he has shown remarkable progress through consistent speech and physiotherapy.

Today, he sits, tries to stand, eats on his own, and is learning to speak. These milestones reflect the power of early intervention and dedicated care.

We thank IDFC First Bank for supporting such life-changing work with children with special needs and their families.

From Tears to Triumph: Shivjot’s Journey

At just 6 years old, Shivjot’s early days were filled with tears, restlessness, and difficulty following simple routines.

Through consistent support under Ek Prayas, he began engaging in structured activities like colour sorting, sensory integration, and early learning exercises.

Today, he walks into the classroom with confidence—able to identify colours, alphabets, and numbers, follow instructions, and patiently wait for his turn. His journey reflects the impact of timely intervention and care.

We sincerely thank IDFC FIRST Bank for making this transformation possible.

Awareness that empowers

A menstrual hygiene awareness session was conducted at our Qudsia Bagh Centre for participants from our Vocational Training Programme, the Palna team, and mothers of beneficiaries from the Educational Sponsorship Programme.

The session focused on building understanding around menstrual hygiene, overall health, and addressing common myths, while encouraging open and comfortable conversations.

An informative initiative that supports women in making informed choices and approaching menstrual health with confidence.

We thank the Rotaract Club, DU College for conducting the session.
