Miri-Piri Diwas is a significant day in Sikh history.

ਮੀਰੀ-ਪੀਰੀ ਦਿਵਸ ਸਿੱਖ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਦਿਨ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਛੇਵੇਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਮੀਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੀਰੀ।
ਮੀਰੀ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਸੰਸਾਰਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਿਆਇ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਖੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦਕਿ ਪੀਰੀ ਆਤਮਿਕਤਾ, ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹੈ।
ਇਹ ਦਿਵਸ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਫਰਜ਼ ਨਿਭਾਉਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ।
