3ie seeks research assistant consultants to support activities for the long-term follow-up survey for the impact evaluation of a rural early childhood development (ECD) program implemented by Save the Children International in Mozambique. As the first evaluation of its kind, this study represents a unique opportunity to shed light on the long-term returns to investment in ECD in a low-income country setting.

⚑ coming up this week!
Climate action is accelerating. But is the evidence infrastructure keeping pace?

Join us for Session 2️⃣ of 3ie’s Evidence Dialogues on Climate Action 🌍 series co-convened with What Works Climate Solutions as we explore a critical question: Why is it so difficult to mobilize support for evidence-informed climate action?

Despite growing urgency and increasing investment in climate interventions, building a strong evidence base remains a challenge.

Join us next week for the second session of our Evidence Dialogues on Climate Action series co-convened with What Works Climate Solutions. The discussion will examine the structural, institutional, and cultural factors that shape the supply and use of rigorous climate evidence.

Together, our panel will explore:
1. Why rigorous climate evaluation is often difficult to conduct
2. How pressures for rapid action influence evidence generation
3. The challenges of measuring long-term and context-specific climate outcomes
4, What it will take to build stronger political, financial, and institutional support for climate evidence

What does the evidence say about skills training and youth employment in low- and middle-income countries β€” and where are the gaps?

Join 3ie and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office - Research, Science and Technology this week for the launch of our new on learning-to-earning pathways. Drawing on 510 impact evaluations and 17 systematic reviews, this is the first systematic mapping of rigorous technical and vocational education and training ( ) evidence across L&MICs β€” with clear implications for program design, policy, and future research.

🌍 Help shape the global evidence on health systems financing.

How health systems are financed has profound implications for who gets care, when, and at what cost. With support from the Wellcome Trust, we are producing the first systematic mapping of global research on health systems financing using machine learning–assisted synthesis.

As part of our commitment to open and transparent research processes, we are sharing our draft protocol β€” and we are keen to hear from you on:
➑️ Health systems financing
➑️ Evidence synthesis and systematic mapping
➑️ Machine learning for research synthesis
➑️ Global health and health policy

We welcome your perspectives on the scope, conceptual framing, search strategy, taxonomy, and methodology.

3ie and The Campbell Collaboration are pleased to announce that the International Development Coordinating Group (IDCG) has evolved into the ✨Sustainable Development Coordinating Group (SDCG)✨.

Hosted by 3ie, SDCG will continue supporting authors of systematic reviews and evidence gap maps, particularly from low- and middle-income countries, through technical expertise, editorial support, and methodological guidance to strengthen high-quality evidence synthesis.

This transition reflects how development challenges are understood today. Persistent inequalities, climate change, displacement, and global health risks increasingly demonstrate that sustainable development is a shared global challenge. One that requires stronger evidence, collaboration, and learning across regions and contexts.

Happening today!
Join 3ie and What Works Climate Solutions for a panel discussion as we take stock of the evolving evidence base across climate-related sectors in low- and middle-income countries, unpacking where research is gaining traction and where critical gaps remain.

This is the opening session of our three-part Evidence Dialogues series to stimulate the cross-sector dialogue and collective action that the climate evidence agenda urgently needs.
