Director's Workshop 2026 Kerala

This year’s NAF Annual Director’s Workshop unfolded where land meets the restless sea, at the iconic Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach in Kannur, an apt setting for an organisation driven by exploration, challenge and the call of the outdoors. Hosted by Safar Ahmed and the Kerala II Chapter, the workshop brought together leaders bound by a shared passion for adventure and excellence.

Over three immersive days, against a backdrop of open skies, rolling waves, and coastal winds, the workshop witnessed intense and enriching discussions, a free exchange of ideas, and hands-on adventure activities that reflected the very ethos of NAF. The environment itself seemed to reinforce our purpose - pushing boundaries while remaining deeply respectful of nature. By the culmination of the workshop, we collectively finalised seven Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) governing the conduct of various adventure activities. This marks a significant step in our continuous endeavour to remain aligned with global best practices and the highest safety standards, reaffirming NAF’s role as the apex body for adventure sports in the country.

My sincere compliments to all Chapter Directors who participated with enthusiasm and commitment and special appreciation to Safar and his team for meticulously orchestrating an event that balanced rigour, camaraderie and adventure in equal measures.

I am also deeply grateful to Wg Cdr SKJ Nair, VrC (a veteran MiG-21 pilot) and Dr Rohini Nair, Director, Kerala I Chapter, for bringing their team alongwith paramotors and a powered hang-glider (PHG). Their presence literally added a new dimension to the workshop - lifting the spirit of adventure from the ground to the skies.

The Muzappilangad workshop was more than a meeting, it was a reminder of who NAF is, why we exist and the horizons we continue to chase together.

It was a great beginning. The first program of "Waterlife Saving Technique and Power Boat Handling Tiller" conducted after MoU of NAF and Niws Iittm Goa. It will be a game changer. It will provide an opportunity for training and certification in a centrally located area. NIWS faculty observed the pollution free water and all facilities within one minute distance helped in more training hours. The program was concluded on the 24th of Sept 2025.

Dear Adventurists,

The National Adventure Foundation is proud to share that the Cycle Expedition of our West Bengal (Paschim) Chapter, which commenced its journey from Asansol on 20 Sept 2025 and passed through Delhi in the second week of October has successfully reached Galwan Ghati in Eastern Ladakh via Pangong Tso Lake on 13 Nov 2025.

Our team from NAF West Bengal, comprising five girls and four boys aged 16 to 17 years , has accomplished this remarkable expedition, covering vast distances and spreading inspiring messages throughout their journey:
- Saluting the guardians of our borders.
- True patriotism lies in sacrifice.
- Standing in solidarity with those affected by the devastating monsoons.
- The youth are the power of Bharat—pedaling together with determination.

It is a moment of immense pride for us to announce the successful completion of this extraordinary expedition. On behalf of the entire adventurist community, the NAF fraternity wholeheartedly congratulates these brave young participants, as well as the Chapter Director, Mr. Mihir Mondal, and wish them good health and continued success.

We will continue to uphold the spirit of adventure and move forward with firm resolve in all our endeavours. We express my heartfelt gratitude to all the Army units and establishments along the route whose support played a vital role in the success of this mission. We also extend our sincere thanks to the Hon’ble Sports Minister, Shri Mansukh L. Mandaviya ji, and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for their encouragement and support to the participants.

*NAF Foundation Day – 06 Nov 2025*

Dear Directors, Members, Adventurists and Friends of the National Adventure Foundation,

On this joyous occasion of the Foundation Day of the National Adventure Foundation (NAF), I extend my heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to each one of you across India and around the world. Today, as we celebrate the spirit of adventure that unites us, we also celebrate the courage, camaraderie and dedication that define our journey together.

Since its inception on 6th Nov1979, NAF has grown from a vision into a vibrant, nation-wide movement—spanning 39 chapters, including two in the North-East. What began as a humble effort to nurture a spirit of adventure among youth has evolved into a powerful force that ignites confidence, resilience, and national pride in every corner of our country.

For over four decades, we have scaled mountains, sailed across seas, explored the unknown, and, above all, discovered the strength within ourselves. Each expedition, each training camp, and each act of service has shaped the story of NAF—a story of ordinary people achieving the extraordinary through teamwork, endurance, and the spirit of exploration.

As we look ahead, let us take a moment to reflect with pride and gratitude. Our journey is a testament to what vision, unity, and unwavering purpose can achieve. With the steadfast leadership of our Chapter Directors and the boundless enthusiasm of our members and volunteers, NAF stands ready to contribute meaningfully to the dream of a Viksit Bharat—an India that is strong, confident, and ever adventurous.

On this Foundation Day, let us renew our pledge to keep the flame of adventure burning bright. Let us continue to inspire our youth to embrace challenges with courage, to respect nature, and to find joy in discovery. For it is through adventure that we truly learn to live—with purpose, with passion, and with pride in our nation.

To every member, volunteer, and supporter of NAF—thank you for your dedication and spirit. Together, we will keep climbing new heights, exploring new horizons, and inspiring generations to come.

Wishing all adventurists across India and beyond a life full of courage, discovery, and boundless adventure.

Jai Hind!
