Promotion of education, which leads to richer and more creative life, is a basic tenet of the society, One of the Public service activities of Delhi branch of the society, Purushottandas Tandon Library, is an effort in that direction. These aims

and objectives provided the motivation to set up Purushottamdas Tandon library. the fact that in the year 1960 South Delhi had no Library worth the name, was another equally important contributory factor and added incentive. Thus the setting up of Purushottamdas Tandon Library met the very genuine and keenly felt need of a few lakh residents of south Delhi. The Library offers books on subjects as far afield as social science, humanities, naturopathy and nature cure, literature and modern fiction, biographies and autobiographies of all eminent personages, (both in Hindi and English). There are special sections, bulit up with painstaking care, for children, a text-book section for students of degree classes of Delhi University, and a full-fledged information and reference and public sectors.
