ABOUT US
Ditsa is an Indian development based NGO (Non-governmental Organization) working to improve the lives of the underprivileged through an approach of coming together and helping, that puts these people at the center of community development. It works on issues pertaining to the poor and the downtrodden. Ditsa’s work is concentrated in the fields of community development, health of underpri
vileged and environment which we believe are the areas of greatest need and deserve to be the foci of our attention. We help those in need with full respect, love and commitment, with the aim to not deliver charity but to empower them to better their own lot. Ditsa has been formed by the tireless efforts of a diverse and accomplished set of people who have worked very hard and developed a deep rooted tradition of service and an efficient operational structure. This is the official page of Ditsa, a Non-Governmental Organisation. Ditsa is the brain child of Mrinal Singh, a student of civil engineering. In an effort to give back to the society, he envisions a more constructive social environment and the exigent need to turn this vision & dream into a reality. HISTORY
In 2013, Mrinal Singh, then a Civil Engineering student, was driven by the extraordinary dream to see a day when no Indian citizen would be deprived of rights as basic as survival, participation, protection and development. Like many of us, Mrinal too was upset when he saw disparities between the privileged and underprivileged people of the society. Unlike most of us though, he did something. It took a long time for him to study and research about how can this dream be fulfilled. Later in January 2014, he and his 8 other friends joined hands to form a NGO. They felt that something needed to be done to improve the situation of the underprivileged sections of the Indian society. Uncharacteristically, keeping their motives in mind, they chose not join any other prevailing organization. They opted instead to make Ditsa a link between thousands of Indians who could provide resources and thousands of dedicated people who are ready to work for the underprivileged. All through the early, difficult times, it was Mrinal’s and his friend’s passion and conviction that drove Ditsa. They were firmly convinced that each of us can, in our own small way, be agents of change, and when enough of us are moved to this, the impact is a lasting change for the better.
