It is a group of retired Judges, Advocates, Social Activists, Journalists and inspired citizens of India. Pravasi Legal Cell was inaugurated by Dr. Christy Fernandez (I.A.S), Secretary to the President of India, on 1st February 2009 as an initiative of the Knanaya Catholic Mission, Delhi. Pravasi Legal Cell is a brain child of Jose Abraham, Advocate on record, Supreme Court of India, who is also i

ts Global President and operational head. Pravasi Legal Cell endeavors to mitigate a wide range of injustice that the common man encounters in everyday life. We aim at protecting the vitality and dignity of human life without discrimination on any ground such as caste, religion, gender, language, place of birth etc. and ensuring the constitutional as well as the legal rights of the common man. Pravasi Legal Cell will not accept financial aid of any nature such as donation, grant etc. from any local or international, governmental or private bodies or individual. Balakrishnan – former ChiefJustice of India, Honourable Justice Kurian Joseph – former Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Honourable Justice C.S. Rajan – former Judge of Kerala High Court are the patrons of Pravasi Legal Cell.All these years of eventful existence, Pravasi Legal Cell could able to help thousands of Indians who faced injustice in India and abroad. PLC has brought up numerous matters to the attention of the appropriate government and the judiciary concerning issues of Pravasi’s and could able to receive effective intervention by the ministry to solving them.

JUSTICE DELIVERED AFTER 8 YEARS – A FAMILY'S LONG WAIT COMES TO AN END 🙏

After an agonizing wait of eight long years, the family of Late Shri Manjit Singh has finally begun receiving the compensation that was rightfully due to them. What began as a tragic incident in 2018 has culminated in a significant milestone in 2026, reaffirming that perseverance, collective efforts, and unwavering commitment to justice can truly make a difference.

This achievement reflects the power of coordinated humanitarian intervention and dedicated legal follow-up. The Pravasi Legal Cell (PLC) remained steadfast with the bereaved family throughout this journey, ensuring that every possible effort was made until justice reached their doorstep.

A family that had been facing immense difficulties in obtaining the birth certificate of their daughter has finally received the long-awaited document after persistent legal efforts. What once appeared impossible has now become a reality.

This achievement was made possible through the dedicated efforts and professional legal expertise of Adv. Tariq Alown, whose commitment and perseverance ensured a positive outcome for the family.

The grateful family shared the following heartfelt message:

We are pleased to share another successful outcome in our continued commitment to supporting the Indian community in Bahrain.

An Indian national, who had been pursuing a legal claim for his pending salary and End-of-Service Benefits, has successfully received BHD 7,008.865. The compensation amount has now been transferred directly to the employee's bank account by the lawyer.

This successful resolution reflects the importance of timely legal intervention, coordination, and dedicated support for migrant workers seeking justice.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Adv. Bushra Mayoof for her professional legal assistance and unwavering commitment throughout the case. 🤝 United Against Human Trafficking | World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2026

The Pravasi Legal Cell (PLC) Bahrain Chapter was honoured to participate in the 3rd Combatting Trafficking in Persons Forum, organized by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), Kingdom of Bahrain, on the occasion of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, held on 30 July 2026 at the Gulf Hotel.

The forum, held under the theme "National Partnerships in Combatting Trafficking in Persons," brought together government authorities, international organizations, diplomatic missions, civil society organizations, and community leaders to strengthen collaboration in protecting human dignity and combating human trafficking.

We were privileged to hear the inspiring keynote address by H.E. Nibras Talib, Chief Executive of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons. His address reaffirmed Bahrain's unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable persons, strengthening national partnerships, promoting ethical workplaces, enhancing victim protection, and maintaining the Kingdom's leadership in the global fight against trafficking in persons.
The forum also highlighted several landmark initiatives, including: ✅ Enhanced Wage Protection System (WPS) ✅ Expansion of the Regional Centre for Training in Combatting Trafficking in Persons in partnership with IOM ✅ Capacity building through Training of Trainers (ToT) programmes ✅ Stronger collaboration with the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) ✅ Launch of the inaugural Private Sector Excellence Award in Combatting Trafficking in Persons
