The Tibet House in New Delhi opens the gate to Tibetan culture. His Holiness the Dalai Lama's vision has a profound effect on the activities of Tibet House.

The activities of this centre reach beyond the circle of Tibetologists and Buddhist Masters, it integrates laypersons as well as scholars of many disciplines, artists, and social activists. One focus is on encouraging cross-cultural and inter-religious dialogues, as well as the exploration of relations between science and religion. Another focus is on ecological responsibility for this fragile planet from a Buddhist point of view. These are efforts towards the goal of universal harmony.

🌏🙏 United in Compassion and Prayer

On 17th June 2026, Tibet House, New Delhi, hosted the International Prayer Meet, bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and communities across the world—both online and offline—to offer heartfelt prayers and aspirations for the successful recovery of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s knee treatment.

The gathering featured the Ceremony of Undertaking the Aspirational Bodhisattva Vows, led by Ven. Geshe Dorji Damdul, Director of Tibet House, New Delhi, along with the recitation of the Medicine Buddha Mantra. Participants joined in a shared spirit of compassion, wisdom, and collective goodwill, with simultaneous interpretations available in multiple languages.

This global assembly was a powerful expression of unity, faith, and solidarity, reflecting the deep respect and heartfelt wishes of people from all walks of life for the health, strength, and swift recovery of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. 🙏✨

We mourn the passing of Professor Robert A.F. Thurman (84), a devoted friend and student of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and a pioneering voice in bringing Tibetan Buddhism to the West. Across decades as a scholar, translator, and co-founder of Tibet House US, he opened countless minds to the depth and beauty of Tibet's spiritual heritage. His brilliance, generosity, and lifelong commitment will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.

May his legacy continue to inspire generations to come.

The gathering included the Medicine Buddha Practice and the Ceremony of Undertaking the Aspirational Bodhisattva Vows, led by Ven. Geshe Dorji Damdul, Director of Tibet House, New Delhi. Participants joined both in person and online from around the world, offering prayers, aspirations, and heartfelt wishes for His Holiness’s continued health, well-being, and enduring guidance for humanity.

Inquiry into the Nature of Reality
Understanding Emptiness in the Nalanda Buddhist Tradition
A Dialogue Between Buddhism and Modern Science

Over two enriching days, participants from around the world joined Venerable Geshe Dorji Damdul, the Director of Tibet House, the Cultural Centre of H.H. the Dalai Lama, New Delhi, in exploring the profound wisdom of the Nalanda tradition and its relevance to our modern lives.

Through insightful teachings and engaging discussions, the retreat examined the Buddhist understanding of emptiness (Śūnyatā), dependent arising, the nature of reality, and the fascinating dialogue between Buddhist philosophy and contemporary science.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and our collaborators at Nalanda Foundation, Russia, for making this retreat a meaningful and successful gathering of learning, reflection, and wisdom.
