An initiative by the Crafts Council of India. As an outcome of CCI’s efforts in the direction of marketing, the Kamala store offers a permanent window for quality crafts in some of India’s most important markets. At Kamala, CCI showcases products of excellence and quality as well as specially designed products developed during the course of interaction with artisans over the last three decades. In

a world of increasing uniformity, it has been CCI’s dream to weave the unique beauty of handicrafts back into everyday lives; to reaffirm the relevance and the viability of the handcrafted object. Kamala Crafts Outlets seek to demonstrate that professional marketing support is an essential means of developing traditional crafts and providing sustainable livelihoods. The products sourced directly from artisans, have been specially designed and carefully chosen to showcase innovation in different materials and fine workmanship. These outlets are run in collaboration by CCI, headquartered in Chennai, and the local state council. KAMALA ‘ is a tribute to Kamaldevi Chattopadhyay, the founder of Crafts Council of India and Delhi Crafts Council and is named after her.
