National Confederation of Dalit & Adivasi Organisations

Founded in December 2001, National Confederation of Dalit-Adivasi Organisations (NACDAOR) is a national platform committed to an inclusive, progressive, secular, democratic and non-sectarian society. It believes in equality, social justice and equal dignity of the socially marginalised. Led by people from mostly Dalit-Adivasi background, NACDAOR works for minorities, through innovative programs, enabling strategies, community based interventions in systematically evolved synergies of various stakeholders working towards the goal of social, economic, cultural and political empowerment of Dalits and others. While firmly believing that Dalits, Adivasis, the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes are the most vulnerable, excluded and disadvantaged in India, it emphasizes that the emancipatory efforts of these historically marginalized sections can only be successful if they themselves lead the movement. NACDAOR provides the platform of handholding, undertakes research in areas such as atrocity issues, economy and livelihood issues, health and nutrition, water, sanitation, so forth and attempts at creating a direct link with the community at large across 25 states of the country.
