India Vision Foundation recently held a virtual interaction with Clean Start Africa, following an initial meeting between Ms. Monica Dhawan and Ms. Teresa Njoroge at the Global Alliance Conference in Amsterdam. The engagement marked a promising step towards global collaboration in prison reform and rehabilitation.

Clean Start Africa expressed a strong interest in learning from India Vision Foundation’s proven 4S Model of Reform and its three decades of practical experience, innovative interventions, and rehabilitative therapies.

This virtual exchange of ideas on the challenges, learnings, and impact of prison interventions reflected Clean Start Africa’s eagerness to learn from India Vision Foundation’s proven reform approaches, practical experience, and innovative models, while also reflecting a shared commitment to building more humane, inclusive, and rehabilitative correctional systems through collaboration and mutual learning.

Both organizations also expressed enthusiasm for continued engagement, with more such knowledge-sharing and learning interactions planned in the coming months to strengthen collaborative efforts in correctional reform and rehabilitation.

A mother is not defined by labels, distance, or circumstance.
Some love their children beside them, while some love through memories, voices, and hope beyond prison walls. ❤️

This Mother’s Day, India Vision Foundation through its Children of Vulnerable Families (CVF) program celebrated every form of motherhood, mothers, single mothers, caregivers, and the invisible strength behind every child’s journey.

Because children do not remember labels…
they remember love. ✨

Rehabilitation begins when someone feels heard. 🤝

India Vision Foundation organized separate Rehabilitation Baithaks for male and female beneficiaries, creating safe spaces filled with trust, support, and hope for life beyond prison.

The 3rd series of baithak with male beneficiaries brought together 9 individuals who openly shared their struggles, experiences, and challenges after release. Conversations around rehabilitation, employment, reintegration, and emotional healing encouraged confidence, connection, and the courage to begin again.

The 4th series of baithak with female beneficiaries witnessed the participation of 12 women who shared their fears, aspirations, and dreams for a better future. Through interactive activities and meaningful discussions, the session helped build confidence, emotional strength, and a sense of belonging.

More than just meetings, these baithaks became spaces of healing, reflection, and renewed hope. Every conversation reminded the participants that their journey matters, their voices deserve to be heard, and their future can still be rewritten with dignity and support.

At India Vision Foundation, we believe rehabilitation is not only about release from prison, it is about restoring confidence, rebuilding lives, and empowering individuals to start again with hope.✨✨

A Global Call to Reimagine Justice: Reflections from Amsterdam

The global prison system stands at a critical crossroads.

Across the world, more than 11.5 million people are incarcerated. Yet the impact of imprisonment does not remain confined within prison walls. It extends deeply into families, children, communities, and future generations. Increasingly, global conversations on justice are recognising that incarceration alone does not create safer societies. In many cases, it reinforces cycles of exclusion, stigma, poverty, and disadvantage.

It was in this context that civil society organisations, practitioners, researchers, and leaders with lived experience came together in Amsterdam for the Global Alliance of Civil Society on Prison Reform Kick-off Conference, convened by Penal Reform International on 26–27 March 2026.

Arohi’s journey is a story of courage and resilience.
From loss and responsibility at just 20, she chose strength over despair.
She carried her family, fought her battles, and never gave up.
Today, she stands independent and empowered.
Because healing isn’t just survival, it’s growth. ✨
