Yesterday, at Indus Valley Public School, Noida, VHAI joined hands with the District To***co Control Cell (DTCC), Gautam Buddh Nagar, to spark an important conversation with young minds.

More than 150 students and educators from several Noida schools came together to explore the real and rising risks of to***co and emerging products like e-ci******es.

What stood out was the curiosity and clarity of the students. Their questions, concerns, and reflections reminded us why youth engagement is at the heart of prevention. Schools and teachers play a powerful role in shaping informed choices, and today’s session reinforced the impact of early awareness and honest dialogue.

At VHAI, we remain committed to empowering young people with accurate information and building environments where healthy decisions can thrive.

Creating a to***co-free generation is not just a goal, it’s a shared responsibility, and moments like these energize that mission.

Diabetes affects people at every stage of life- children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, and each group faces unique needs.

For children and young people living with Type 1 diabetes, early diagnosis, uninterrupted insulin access, and strong support systems are essential.

For adults at risk of Type 2 diabetes, adopting healthier routines, balanced eating, regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, and avoiding to***co can significantly reduce risk and prevent complications. For older adults, coordinated care, monitoring, and timely treatment are key to maintaining quality of life.

This World Diabetes Day, let’s commit to better awareness, early detection, preventive habits, and accessible care for everyone, no matter their age or type of diabetes.

Stronger care. Better prevention. Health at every stage.

Every child deserves protection from preventable diseases, no matter where they live. This , we celebrate the collective effort to strengthen vaccine confidence and ensure no child is left behind.

With support from UNICEF and GAVI, VHAI is working across Arunachal Pradesh to boost demand for routine immunization. Through community-led action, capacity building, and social and behaviour change initiatives, we are empowering families to make informed choices for their children’s health.

Immunization is not just about vaccines, it’s about equity, awareness, and a shared commitment to healthier communities.

Cancer prevention begins with awareness and simple, consistent choices can make a powerful difference. Nearly one-third of cancers can be prevented through healthy habits and early detection. Eating a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, staying physically active, avoiding to***co and excessive alcohol, and protecting your skin from harmful sun exposure all go a long way in lowering risk. Regular health screenings remain vital for early detection and timely care.

Let’s make prevention a part of everyday life, because small steps today can protect tomorrow.

Food is more than nourishment, it’s a fundamental right. Yet millions still lack access to safe, nutritious, and adequate food every day.

This World Food Day, let’s remind ourselves that good nutrition in early years lays the foundation for lifelong health, learning, and productivity. Together, we can build a future where every child has access to wholesome meals and no one goes hungry.

Healthy. Affordable. Sustainable. Food for all.

Good health begins with clean hands. Handwashing with soap is one of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent infections like diarrhea, flu, and respiratory illnesses.

This Global Handwashing Day, let’s remember hygiene isn’t just a habit, it’s protection for you, your family, and your community. Wash hands before eating, after using the toilet, after coughing/sneezing, and when returning home.

Small actions, big impact!

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Smt. Anupriya Patel launched the third edition of the To***co Free Youth Campaign 3.0 at a hybrid event, on 9th October in New Delhi.

Addressing the gathering, Smt. Anupriya Patel stated that “to***co consumption is a significant public health challenge and children are especially vulnerable to early experimentation with to***co such as ci******es, bidis and smokeless to***co products often leading to lifelong addiction, chronic diseases and even premature deaths.”

World Mental Health Day reminds us that there is no health without mental health.

In times of uncertainty or adversity, the impact on mental well-being can be profound. Many experience distress or anxiety in silence. Timely support and safe spaces for healing can help individuals and communities regain strength and resilience.

Awareness is the first step, it reduces stigma, builds empathy, and encourages open dialogue. But lasting change requires collective effort. Families, schools, workplaces, and communities must come together to make mental health a shared priority.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s work towards a world where mental well-being is valued, supported, and accessible for all because healing minds heals societies.

Cardiovascular diseases are among the leading causes of death in India but many can be prevented.

At VHAI, our work on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) highlights how everyday choices impact heart health. Major risk factors include to***co use, unhealthy diets, physical inactivity, hypertension, and harmful use of alcohol.

This World Heart Day, let’s focus on protecting our hearts through small but powerful steps: eat balanced meals, stay active, manage blood pressure, avoid to***co and excess alcohol, and get regular health check-ups.

Every heartbeat matters- let’s keep them strong.

In August 2025, measles cases were reported in Longding district, prompting urgent action. VHAI, in collaboration with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and UNICEF, mobilized a coordinated response to strengthen routine immunization and address vaccine hesitancy.

Communities were at the center of this effort, with local leaders, health workers and volunteers engaging families to build trust and encourage vaccination. Through intensive outreach, house-to-house visits, awareness sessions, additional immunization sites, and the use of IEC materials-hesitant families were reached and misconceptions addressed.

As a result, 548 left-out and dropout children were vaccinated, helping to contain the outbreak and improve coverage. This collective effort highlights the power of strong partnerships and community participation in ensuring that no child is left behind in accessing lifesaving vaccines.

This National Nutrition Month 2025, we highlight the role of traditional Indian superfoods in promoting health across the life course. These foods are beneficial for all, but their impact can be particularly significant at different stages of growth and ageing.

From supporting physical and cognitive development in early years, to improving nutritional resilience during adolescence and adulthood, and enhancing immunity and vitality in later life- the right superfoods at the right stage can strengthen the foundation of lifelong health.

At VHAI, we continue to advocate for nutrition as a cornerstone of Health for All - because nourishing today means building a healthier tomorrow.

Good nutrition is the foundation of good health at every age. From children to the elderly, balanced diets ensure growth, energy, and disease prevention.

This National Nutrition Week, let’s remind ourselves of the basics- eat seasonal and local foods, include a variety of grains and pulses, choose fresh and minimally processed meals, and reduce excess salt, sugar, and fats. Small, mindful changes in our daily diet can make a big difference in preventing lifestyle diseases and improving overall wellbeing.

At VHAI, we continue to advocate for nutrition as a key pillar of public health-because good food choices today mean a healthier tomorrow for all.
