CPL came into existence when a group of public policy students from leading universities decided to actively contribute towards nation building while pursuing their studies in the United States. The idea is to create an ecosystem of individuals who are passionate to work towards effecting change in our society and empower them with the knowledge, skills and networks required to effect that change.

The CPL Policy Conclave 2026 brought together experience, expertise and the next generation of policy thinkers for a compelling conversation on “Foreign Policy in the VUCA World.”

We were honoured to host Amb. Navtej Sarna, former Ambassador of India to the United States, United Kingdom & Israel, for an insightful session exploring the changing dynamics of global affairs and India’s evolving role in a complex international order.

Held around the theme “India & Next Gen: Building Policy for a VUCA World,” the Conclave brought together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and young voices to engage with the complexities shaping India’s future.

From thought provoking presentations and insightful discussions to meaningful exchanges and recognitions, the two-day gathering created a space to look beyond immediate challenges and think about policies that are adaptive, inclusive, and future ready.

The conversations explored how India can respond to a rapidly changing world where technology, economic shifts, governance challenges, and emerging opportunities are constantly reshaping the policy landscape.

More than a conclave, it was a coming together of perspectives, experiences, and ideas with one shared focus: building a stronger, more responsive policy ecosystem for the next generation.

At the CPL Policy Conclave 2026, the session “India’s Energy Transition: Growth, Security & Sustainability” brought together perspectives on one of the most complex policy challenges facing India today.

The discussion explored the energy trilemma at the heart of India’s development journey: ensuring reliable and secure energy access, sustaining economic growth, and meeting climate and sustainability commitments.
