Women’s Literacy Program provides free education to illiterate adult women with the help of Computer Based Functional Literacy Software (a computer module developed by Tata Consultancy Services) in several centers set up in slums across Central and East Delhi. For a Literacy centre, a lady from the community is selected and given training. Her Jhuggi/Home serves as a class room for the women benef

iciaries of the area. Hence, the system provides a suitable space for illiterate women in their own environment. It assisted to enable them to gain self respect and confidence, to manage financial issues, to read newspapers, hoardings and report cards of their children. At our 410 centers in Delhi/NCR, Uttrakhand & Haryana 30 women are being taught in two batches of 1 hour each.
