Today marks one month since the passing of Dr. Usha Omprakash — a gentle soul whose kindness extended not only to people but also to the countless animals whose lives she touched.

She loved dogs deeply and always encouraged and supported efforts to care for community animals. To her, every life mattered. She was affectionately known as an "Indie Ki Granny" and had a special place in her heart for the voiceless souls who depended on human compassion.

Her warmth, generosity, and quiet strength continue to live on in the memories of everyone who knew her. While she may no longer be with us, the love she shared remains behind in every life she touched.

Today, in her loving memory, her daughter has sponsored an entire day's feeding for the 200+ dogs and cats under our care. We are deeply grateful for this beautiful gesture of love and remembrance.

May Dr. Usha Omprakash's soul rest in eternal peace. ❤️

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts❤️🙏🏼

Every day, this three-legged dog walks to his feeding spot and quietly eats his meal.❤️

No complaints. No self-pity. No demands.
Just a determination to survive.❤️

What amazes me is not that he has only three legs.
What amazes me is how resilient dogs are.❤️

In our feeding rounds alone, we care for four to five three-legged street dogs. This boy from Nehru Place. Chappi from another part of Nehru Place. A three-legged dog from Shahpur Jat. Champion, who is currently admitted at Star Vet. And others who continue to navigate the streets every single day despite losing a limb.

And they do it remarkably well.❤️💪🏼

Dogs are far stronger and more adaptable than many people realize. As long as humans don't interfere with cruelty, violence, or harassment, they are perfectly capable of building a life for themselves.

Yet somehow, society often chooses to make life harder for them.

A disabled dog eating a meal becomes a problem.
People showing kindness become a problem.
Compassion becomes a problem.

Maybe the real problem isn't the dogs.
Maybe the problem is that a three-legged dog can teach us more about resilience, courage, gratitude, and survival than many humans ever learn.

This dog isn't a threat.
He's a survivor.💪🏼

And perhaps instead of making life difficult for animals, we should learn something from them.
Because every day, despite pain, hunger, traffic, weather, and human hostility, they get up and keep going.

If that's not resilience, what is?

If you have not yet donated for a dog like him, please do sponsor a meal. We feed more than 200+ animals every day and are a small, 100% donor-supported charity. Your support helps us continue this work on the ground and sustain our feeding efforts this month.
