𝐒𝐈𝐎 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐌eet

We had a good attendance for our most recent Weekly Meet where students attended from different departments.

𝗗𝗿. 𝗡𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗶 talked about "𝑷𝒓𝒂𝒙𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑷𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒄 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒎 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑩𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅," which was followed by a very interesting interactive discussion. It was indeed a great chance for the students to share their ideas about the need and role of Public Intellectuals within Universities and Beyond.

اللّهُ أكبر اللّهُ أكبر اللّهُ أكبر
لا إلَهَ الا اللّه اللّهُ أكبر
اللّهُ اكبر و لِلّه الحمدَ
O Allah, grant honor to Islam and the Muslims, and raise high, by Your Fazl, the banner of the religion.
O Allah, grant honor to the Muslims in Iran and keep them firm upon the clear truth.
O Allah, grant honor to the Muslims in Gaza and grant them a mighty and decisive victory.
O Allah, grant honor to the Muslims in Sham and lift from them trials and tribulations.
O Allah, grant honor to the Muslims in Yemen and relieve them of hardship and distress.
O Allah, grant honor to the Muslims in Sudan, unite their hearts, and reconcile between them.

*Girls’ Hostel Security Breach is Unacceptable*

The recent incident in which a group of men barged into the Girls’ Hostel premises under the pretext of a fight is deeply disturbing and unacceptable. Eyewitness accounts clearly indicate that this was not a mere altercation but a deliberate intrusion into a women-only space, putting the safety and dignity of residents at risk.

What is even more alarming is that such incidents are not isolated. Repeated breaches expose serious lapses in Jamia’s security system, particularly at hostels located outside the main campus.

SIO JMI strongly condemns this negligence and demands immediate action from the university administration:

• Strict action against those responsible
• Strengthening of hostel security
• Deployment of adequate female guards
• Strict ID-based entry regulation for all male staff

Students’ safety is non-negotiable.
The administration must act immediately before another such incident occurs.

Regards,
SIO JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA

SIO JMI organised a programme at Dr. Zakir Husain Lawn, Jamia Millia Islamia, under the theme "𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲: 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐭 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜."

The discussion focused on reflecting on history with confidence, developing a new historical approach, and understanding the role of Islam in the subcontinent and its long-lasting impact on the society and civilization of the Indian subcontinent.
The programme was addressed by Dr. Shadab Moosa, who spoke about the emphasis of the Qur’an on understanding history and learning from it. He highlighted how the Qur’anic perspective encourages believers to reflect on past civilizations and draw lessons for the present.
Dr. Khalid Mobashir also addressed the gathering and spoke about the role of language in the making and development of civilizations, explaining how linguistic traditions shape intellectual and cultural histories.
Scholars and students from different disciplines participated in the programme. The event concluded with an Iftar gathering.
May Allah Ta‘ala bless us all with the barakah of Ramadan Kareem and grant us success in this world and the Hereafter.

Alhamdulillah! We had a truly enriching and spiritually uplifting evening at Jamia Millia Islamia. The Fikri Tarbiyatgah provided a much-needed space for intellectual growth, followed by the warmth of an Iftar Get-together with our brothers.
Secretary JIH Jb. Shabbeer khan Sb. and National Secretary SIO Br. Talha Mannan interacted with the students and brothers in faith at JMI.

An evening marked by reflection, warmth, and meaningful dialogue — SIO JMI organised a special Iftar programme primarily for the students of the Geography Department. The gathering was graced by Janab Mohiuddin Ghazi Sahib, Secretary of JIH, who delivered a thought-provoking talk on “The Concept of Aakhirah and the Human Conscience.” He emphasised how belief in the Hereafter nurtures moral responsibility, refines human character, and awakens a conscience that guides one even in moments of solitude.

The presence of Br. Haris Neyazi, Zonal President of SIO Delhi, added strength and encouragement to the gathering. The programme was convened by PhD Scholar Br. Md. Alfaz, whose efforts brought together students in an atmosphere of spiritual reflection and brotherhood.

It was not merely an Iftar, but a space for introspection — a reminder that faith is meant to shape our conduct, deepen our awareness, and anchor our lives in accountability beyond this world.

We stand in firm solidarity with the students of Azim Premji University who courageously held this peaceful academic engagement despite the threats. We see this incident as part of a broader, alarming pattern where dissenting voices addressing issues in Kashmir or other marginalized contexts are targeted and suppressed through force and majoritarian vigilantism.

As students from Jamia Millia Islamia, a campus that has repeatedly defended democratic spaces against intimidation, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to inclusive, secular, and plural campuses free from coercion, bullying, and ideological enforcement through violence.

We call upon all progressive student unions, faculty, civil society, and democratic forces across the country to stand united in defense of the right to question, remember, and demand justice without fear.
