Periods are natural. They are a part of life.
They must never stand in the way of a girl’s education, confidence or dreams.
Let’s talk about menstruation with honesty, dignity and care.

Bal Raksha Bharat and Kohler India came together at Wazirabad Girls School, Gurugram to advance WASH outcomes for students.

With the presence of Ranjeet Oak, President-Kohler India, Sanjay Sharma, Director – BRB, and both teams, the engagement reflected a shared commitment to safe water, improved sanitation, and better hygiene practices in schools.
The interaction with students and teachers reinforced a simple truth: access to WASH is fundamental to health, dignity, and better learning.

Grateful to the Principal, staff, and students for their support and participation.
Because sustainable change goes beyond infrastructure—it is built through awareness, behaviour, and collective action.

Towards Shaping an Inclusive Future…

Bal Raksha Bharat convened a state-level consultation on (31 March 2026), bringing together the voices from government, civil society and children themselves. The most powerful insights came from children, who articulated simple yet urgent needs: safe playgrounds for girls, clean drinking water, functional sanitation, access to education without barriers, and safer community environments.

Their voices revealed that aspirations in urban vulnerable settings are deeply rooted in everyday realities. While discussions highlighted critical themes like online safety, the right to play, and strengthening child protection systems under Mission Vatsalya, children reminded stakeholders that opportunity begins with dignity and access to basic services.

The consultation reinforced an important perspective: enabling urban children to dream big requires bridging gaps in their aspirations, investing in inclusive infrastructure, and fostering community-driven solutions. When these building blocks are secured, children are better positioned to explore opportunities, build confidence, and truly realise their aspirations.

18 Years. One Unwavering Mission.

As Bal Raksha Bharat marks 18 years of standing strong for children across India, Our CEO Santanu Chakraborty reflects on a journey shaped by resilience, compassion and purpose.

From small, determined beginnings to large-scale impact. From the earliest milestones to a movement powered by the collective strength of our teams, parteners and the communities who placed their trust in us.
What has remained constant through this journey is one belief- every child deserves a secure childhood. Not just to survive but to truly thrive.
With bold ambition and steadfast commitment, we will continue to do whatever it takes until every child is safe and learning.
The mission only grows stronger.

Every child deserves a space where curiosity feels safe, creativity feels celebrated, and learning feels like an adventure.

That’s why we’re proud to partner with H&M to transform 6 government schools across Bengaluru Urban & Rural. From June 2025 to March 2026, classrooms are being reimagined, STEAM labs buzzing with 90+ hands on models, safe drinking water flowing through new filters, and upgraded furniture making learning spaces more welcoming.

As part of this effort, 27 colleagues from H&M Business Tech Bangalore joined students and the Building Learning Environment in Schools (BLES) initiative to co-create murals across three schools. Together, they designed educational and vibrant artwork that transformed the STEAM classrooms into inspiring spaces - sparking imagination and fostering joyful, inclusive environments for learning.

Together, we’re not just upgrading infrastructure- we are nurturing inclusive spaces where every child can learn, explore, and thrive.

SAKHI initiative is building a culture of openness…

The right knowledge and conducive environment are supporting girls to continue their education with confidence and dignity.

Periods are natural—with awareness, schools can remain a place where every girl learns, grows, and thrives. Bal Raksha Bharat, with support from Kenvue, launched the SAKHI initiative, which is now enabling us to break the silo that prevails around ‘Periods.’
