Empowering Women Through Skills and Employment

On 9th March 2026, Sakshi with the support of Rio Tinto, inaugurated a new Skill Development Centre in Abehpur Village, Gurgaon.

The centre will provide stitching and garment-related training to village women, helping them gain practical skills and connect with employment opportunities nearby.

The goal is simple but powerful – to enable women to become financially independent and support their families.

Sakshi and Rio Tinto are already successfully running a similar Skill Development Centre in Dundahera, Gurgaon, where 30 women are trained every month and placed in nearby garment manufacturing companies.

This initiative has already made a meaningful difference in the lives of many women and their families.

The inauguration was attended by the *Sakshi and Rio Tinto teams * along with the Sarpanch of Abehpur Village.

During the event, the Rio Tinto team motivated the trainees and encouraged them to make the most of this opportunity and contribute to their families after gaining employment.

Initiatives like these are a great support for communities, creating sustainable livelihoods and strengthening women’s role in economic development.

Celebration of International Women’s Day – 8 March 2026

Sakshi proudly celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March at Sakshi Mahila Panchayat, Chandanhula and Kotla Mubarakpur, New Delhi. The event brought together women from the community to recognize their strength, leadership, and contributions.

Police personnel from Fatehpur Beri Police Station and Kotla Police Station joined the program and interacted with women, encouraging them to be aware of their rights and safety. Representatives from DLSA also conducted informative sessions with women at both locations.

On this occasion, Sakshi honored and awarded several inspiring women who have shown leadership and contributed significantly towards improving the quality of life in their communities.

The celebration was a powerful reminder that when women lead, communities grow stronger.

We are grateful to share that we under the life skills education distributed exam writing boards to 610 students across our Life Skills Education partner schools- Swastik High School and Sheth SC High School in Sanand, Gujarat.
This timely support provides practical assistance during daily classes and examinations, especially for students from economically modest backgrounds. Beyond fulfilling a basic academic need, the initiative has significantly boosted students’ morale, confidence, and motivation to perform better.

Small resources can create a big impact when they reach the right hands. We sincerely acknowledge and appreciate the continued efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure in rural schools and support the holistic development of students.
