WePlant India Planting location specific indigenous fruit trees in public places. Thus enhancing bio-diversity and reduce malnutrition.

WePlant is a Non Government Organization that aims to reduce malnutrition and promote biodiversity through the simple act of planting fruit trees in public places, remote villages, river-side, mountains and valleys. We believe that we can tackle the serious issues of both declining biodiversity globally as well as the significant malnutrition across India by planting indigenous fruit trees in public places where people who need the nutritious fruit can have access to it. So far we have planted more than 38000 trees across Kerala, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Mizoram, Nagaland as well as in Delhi and we plan on continuing to expand.

• It is estimated that over 45% of children below the age of five and 65% of pregnant and lactating mothers in India are anaemic.
• We Plant fruit trees in public places so that the poorest of the poor get access to nutritious fruits.
• Each tree is planted and nurtured by a volunteer and grown in memory of anyone in the community. The aim is to reduce malnutrition and enhance bio-diversity.

Rooting for a greener, healthier tomorrow!

Led by our dedicated District Project Coordinator (DPC) Ms. Adlin Dadel from Asansol, West Bengal, our team organized an impactful plantation drive in Rangapara village.

Together with enthusiastic local residents, planted nourishing papaya saplings to enhance green cover and support long-term household nutrition, taking a vital step toward reducing hunger and malnutrition.

Every sapling planted today is an investment in community health, climate resilience, and sustainable livelihoods. Kudos to the entire community for making this drive a resounding success!

Can 3 crore seeds restore a 465-km ancient green shield?

Our founder at We Plant India, Dr Santosh George recently engaged with Delhi University student leaders from Rotaract Club of Delhi Midtown Maitreyi and the Rotaract Club of Delhi Midtown Vasudha.

Our vision: inspire 5,000 schools across Delhi to collect, save, and disperse 3 crore native seeds into the Aravalli Hills.

Together, we want to gift India a thriving, green Aravalli forest by our 100th year of Independence.

Sowing Seeds for a Nourished Future!

Addressing hunger and childhood malnutrition starts right at the roots. Under the initiative of We Plan India, our dedicated team member Ms. Priskila Priya (District Program Coordinator, Chamarajanagar) successfully established a vibrant School Seed Bank at Government High School in Chamarajanagar District, Karnataka.
This Seed Bank aims to empower students and the local school community to grow indigenous, nutrient-dense crops and vegetables directly on school grounds.

By introducing accessible, sustainable cultivation, this initiative directly combats malnutrition, builds food security, and fosters agricultural awareness among the youth.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the school headmaster, teachers, and non-teaching staff for their warm support and collaboration. Most importantly, kudos to the enthusiastic students whose energy and curiosity brought this initiative to life!

Together, we are nurturing greener campuses and healthier young minds.

Sowing Seeds of Change in Bankura!

We are proud to share that our DPC, Ms Rima Pande, has successfully established a Seed Bank at Gobindapur Primary School and Ananda Marga Primary School in the Sarenga block of Bankura, West Bengal!

Special thanks to Head Master Mr Ramen Sharma for supporting this initiative, where students are actively learning about tree plantation and seed conservation. We are taking a vital step toward reducing hunger and malnutrition with the vital support of schools.

​Our dedicated DPC, Ms. Ruma Chatterjee, mobilized primary school students across Malda, West Bengal, to collect 100 tamarind seeds, a powerful step toward green cover and sustainable nutrition.

Green Development Initiative – Nagapattinam District.

We are proud to share that our dedicated team member, Ms Shanthi (DPC), planted trees at the Corporation Office and the nearby garden area in Nagapattinam District, Tamil Nadu, after obtaining due permission from the concerned authorities.

The saplings were planted at carefully selected locations to support long-term growth and contribute to a greener, healthier environment for our community.

Trees are not just about greenery — they play a vital role in supporting nutrition and food security. Fruit-bearing and native trees can help combat malnutrition and hunger by providing natural, sustainable sources of food for generations to come. Every tree planted today is a step toward a healthier and more food-secure tomorrow.
