Super school India (“SSI”) started off as a post-school education centre but as we went further, we realised that along with literacy, they also need to learn the important lessons of life. Bookish information alone is not sufficient to make a child capable enough for the competitive world and being underprivileged makes those challenges reach a whole new level. Therefore, Super School India aims
at more than just academic development. There’s a famous saying by Plato, “The direction in which education starts a man determine his future.” Similarly, SSI gives them a direction through education which will lead them towards a better future. Our aim is to bridge the gap that exists between the Indian government schooling system and private schools and for this we conduct post-school classes for Maths, English, and have regular discussions on Civics and Morality. Our lessons are interactive and our learning environment safe, which gives the students a space to voice their concerns without fear of punishment. SSI also works for the development of the environment in which our kids live. These often tend to slum settlements with improper sanitation and waste management facilities. SSI is working to bring eco-friendly toilets and waste management to the slum community. We employ four mechanisms to achieve the above targets. Community effort
SSI encourages the local community to be volunteers. This is because we believe that the community should be involved in making the life of all its residents ideal. Youth community leaders
We are training 9 of our best students to become community leaders for various social issues like education, health, sanitation, etc. This is because we want to instill leadership qualities in our students and inspire them to take charge of their community problems, with or without the presence of SSI. Street Plays
We found that if we wanted the Super School kids to believe in a certain social issue, acting for it really embedded the good thoughts. They also felt empowered after educating the general public on a worthy cause. The kids have curated and performed 2 street plays – anti-crackers for Diwali and the perils of abandonment in old age. Collaborations with other NGOs
SSI curates its programs on health, sanitation, education, etc. in collaboration with NGOs that have expertise in them. This ensures we create an ecosystem that everyone benefits from. Going Forward
