Earlier dowry was given by upper class families to their daughter as wedding presents in the form of expensive
gifts or cash. But later on it became a demand from the Groom’s side to have a good dowry. According to Government Figures every year 7618 girls dies just because of dowry cases. Isn’t a shocking figure, every year 7618 little angels or Papa’s dolls dies just because they are not able to satisfy the hunger need of money of some greedy people. We call ourselves civilized but does it happens in a civilized society? Case of Dowry arises:-
1- When a small boy was told that when he will get married he will getting car, bike or what so ever he will need.
2- When a boy saw that his friend / relatives are getting expensive gifts or huge money in their marriages.
3- When groom’s family counts that how much they have spent on groom’s education and upbringing.
4- When groom’s family sees that the bride’s family is well off or bride is a single child. There are endless numbers of reasons ……….. Now what we need to do about this is to stop it…
STOP DOWRY
We need to make a dowry free society. A society where girls get married in good families without giving dowry and lives so called “HAPPILY EVER AFTER”. This all can happen when every one of us will take a pledge that they r not going to support dowry at all neither in their marriages nor in others.. It is not like that every boy demands for dowry; it is just that families are not able to find them easily when they look for marriage…SO,
