The India-Chile Youth Forum is an initiative of university students from India working under the umbrella of an apolitical and not-for-profit forum called Global Youth. We are being guided by a group of prominent Indian diplomats, journalists and academicians in an endeavor to promote cross-border and cross-cultural interaction among young students and professionals from across the globe. As part
of the initiative, the Republic of Chile is a key country with which we are trying to set up a student-to-student direct dialogue to facilitate interaction and an exchange of ideas between university students in both countries. Consequently, we are extending an open invite to any students who might have an inclination to part-take in the first ever India-Chile Youth Forum. They will gain a chance for a direct interaction with students from universities across India. The forum initially is being set up with the following immediate goals:
1 – To hold monthly student-to-student videoconferencing sessions on India-Chile ties, cultural exchange and ideas exchange
2 - To start a joint India-Chile youth blog for students from both countries to discuss developments taking place at home and abroad
3 – To set up the first India-Chile Youth Award for outstanding efforts in promoting cross-national understanding, one award each for an Indian student and a Chilean student
4 – To connect Indian and Chilean students pursuing similar fields of study
The forum will be mentored in the immediate time space by senior diplomats and journalists from India before we have a permanent body of mentors from both countries. We are in communication with the Embassy of Republic of Chile in New Delhi, the Embassy of Republic of India in Chile as well as the Ministry of External Affairs in India to grant these bodies observer status to the forum, but primarily this is designed to be a student-to-student non-governmental affair. Interested students are invited to part-take on a voluntary basis. There are no membership fees or any costs to be born by either the students or their university, not now or any time in the future. Nor are we seeking any liability from them or their university. Interested students are requested to send an expression of interest with the following information:
