Shades of Happiness Foundation

Shades of Happiness Foundation Shades of Happiness Foundation is a youth driven NGO which aims at providing basic education and development opportunities to under-privileged children.

Shades of Happiness Foundation (SOHF) is a value-based development organisation founded in New Delhi, India, in 2008. We are a Registered NGO, registered as a Trust under the Trust Act 1882. We started with a group of seven members on the March 2, 2008 and worked outside the State Emporiums in Connaught Place, New Delhi, on the pavements. Initially, we tended to around 70-80 children, mostly from

the nearby slums. To provide better educational infrastructure to the children, we approached St. Columba’s School with the request to use its premises during the weekends. Brother Lobo, Principal of St. Columba’s, generously agreed to grant us the permission to use the school premises any time during the week after the regular school hours.St. Columba’s not only provides us the premises for classes but also the excellent sports infrastructure which helps our children grow and learn holistically. Under current administration of St.Columba's, we continue to grow and excel. Currently, the SOHF team comprises 5 professionals from the fields of Social Work, Marketing, Public Relations and Finance, working in Delhi to provide services that contribute to the economically viable, socially just and ecologically sustainable development of India.

Nurturing Young Climate Leaders 💚

In November, we conducted an engaging workshop under the Captain Planet Project in collaboration with The session, “Introduction to Social Change for Advancing Conservation,” helped students move beyond awareness and step into action.

✨ Highlights:

Built trust and confidence through reflective ice-breakers
Connected students with the ecological importance of the Aravalli forests
Explored individual vs. collective action in driving social change
Hands-on group activity where students proposed real solutions to environmental issues

💡 Impact: Students walked out more aware, expressive, empathetic, and empowered — seeing themselves as contributors to climate action, not just learners.

Grateful to our sponsor - Sentiss Pharma Pvt. Ltd. (Alumni, Staff and Colleagues) and our content partner Youth For Climate India for creating this meaningful experience. Together, we’re shaping informed and responsible young changemakers. 🌱✨

Special thanks to Mr. Deepak Bahri for providing his immense support and knowledge throughout.

Goal Pizza Activity – Pop-Up Festival 🍕

As part of the Pop-Up Festival by Six Seconds in partnership with UNICEF, children at The Shades of Happiness NGO took part in the fun and meaningful Goal Pizza activity.

Through this creative exercise, kids designed their own “Goal Pizza” while learning the importance of the 3C’s in daily life:
✨ Clean – Wash hands, body, teeth, clothes
✨ Care – Take care of your health (trim nails, brush twice, use clean toilets)
✨ Cover – Cover your mouth when sneezing/coughing, and keep wounds covered

It was a joyful blend of art, learning, and life skills — empowering children to grow with confidence and good habits. 🌟

"Empowering Seniors, One Tab at a Time—Thanks to Meheka's Heartfelt Initiative 💖📱"

With immense gratitude, we celebrate the success of Meheka, a remarkable young girl who took the lead in raising funds for 10 tablets through her passion project. With the support of Shades of Happiness as a resource partner, these tabs are now empowering senior citizens to stay connected and embrace the digital world.

A perfect example of how compassion and collaboration can change lives!

We are incredibly proud to have partnered with Meheka Nath, a determined pupil, who spearheaded a fundraising campaign for senior citizens as part of her project under the HEARTS Project. Through her dedication and a series of impactful sessions, she successfully raised funds to provide 10 tablets to seniors—daily wage workers over 50 years old—who are now able to connect with loved ones, access essential services, and explore new opportunities through technology.

As a resource partner, Shades of Happiness (SOH) provided the space, centre, and community to make this initiative a reality. These tabs are more than just devices—they’re gateways to digital literacy, helping bridge the generational and technological gap.

Aligned with UNESCO’s mission to promote global digital inclusion, this project is another step toward ensuring that every individual, regardless of age or background, benefits from the digital age.

Together, Meheka and SOH are proving that age is no barrier to making a difference.
