A training programme was organised today at Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, under Butterflies’ Programme, bringing together young leaders from the Child Health and Sports Cooperative (CHSC) and Children’s Development Khazana (CDK).

The session provided children with opportunities to strengthen their leadership, teamwork, participation and collective decision-making skills, while encouraging healthy lifestyles and active participation through sports.

Through CHSC and CDK, children are not just participants - they are leaders, learners and changemakers.

Empowering children today to shape stronger communities tomorrow.

As part of the World Habitat Day celebrations, the HUDCO brought together children from vulnerable communities to express their ideas and aspirations for an ideal urban habitat through art.

We are proud that 10 children from Butterflies participated in the competition and used their creativity to explore this year’s theme: .”

Through their paintings, our children shared their vision of safe, secure and dignified homes and neighborhoods - reminding us that every child deserves a place they can call home, where they can learn, grow and dream.

At Butterflies, we believe that children’s voices and perspectives matter. Art provides them with a powerful platform to express their ideas, imagine better communities and contribute to conversations about the world they want to live in.

A Meaningful Exchange with .en Japan.

We were pleased to welcome delegates from .en Japan at and our contact point, where they spent time interacting with our children.

Our proudly shared their roles, responsibilities and experiences, giving the visiting delegates an insight into how children actively participate in shaping their own communities. The children also engaged with the delegates through thoughtful questions and a meaningful exchange of ideas.

The visit concluded with our (BBC) reporters interviewing the delegates - putting their communication and reporting skills into action.

As the delegates prepared to leave, they shared how deeply impressed they were by the confidence, curiosity and communication skills of our children.

At Butterflies, we believe that when children are given opportunities to participate, lead and be heard, they can inspire others and create meaningful change.

The Cultural Afternoon at Butterflies NGO is a vibrant platform where our young stars come together to showcase their talents, express themselves and celebrate creativity.

This time, the event brought together children and young people from Butterflies NGO as well as members of the (DCRC) including , ,
.groupofstreetchildren , and .

The stage came alive with a wonderful range of performances, including skits, musical plays, dance performances and poems, giving children an opportunity to express their ideas, creativity and voices through the performing arts.

A special feature of this Cultural Afternoon was its patriotic theme, with children bringing their enthusiasm, creativity and love for the country to the stage.

The Cultural Afternoon also provided an opportunity to recognize and celebrate children who performed well academically in their regular schools as well as through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling).

The children were felicitated with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their hard work, dedication and achievements.

It was more than an afternoon of performances — it was a celebration of children's voices, confidence, creativity participation and achievements .

5th Asia-Pacific Cooperative Youth Summit


Butterflies will share its experience of children’s cooperative approaches

The session brings together young cooperative voices and organizations from Indonesia, Palestine, India and China, creating a space to share experiences, ideas and approaches that demonstrate the power of cooperation and youth-led action.

We are proud to share that Nitesh Gaur, Programme Officer – Education at Butterflies NGO, was invited to speak at the symposium “Youth as Constructive Agents of Change”, organized by the Baha'i Office of Public Affairs - India at the Bahá’í House of Worship, New Delhi.

Drawing on his experience of working with children and young people, Nitesh spoke about how meaningful participation, cooperation and responsibility can help young people become active contributors to social change.

He shared the approaches at Butterflies using , (CHSC) and (CDK) to create spaces where children make decisions, manage resources, work collectively, solve problems and develop leadership skills.

He also emphasized that while competition may drive innovation, cooperation builds trust, peace and sustainable communities and “If we truly believe that children are the leaders of tomorrow, we must give them opportunities to lead today.”

At Butterflies, we believe that when children are trusted with real opportunities to participate, lead, manage, collaborate and make decisions, we are not only preparing them for the future — we are enabling them to shape the present.

Butterflies was delighted to welcome students from bayerische elite akademie for an engaging and inspiring visit!

The students visited different Butterflies contact points, learning about our programmes, approaches and work with children and communities. They also had the opportunity to interact directly with the children, exchange experiences and learn from their perspectives.

Adding a special touch to the visit, our BBC (Butterflies Broadcasting Children) child reporters interviewed the visiting students and faculty.

From their experiences and interests to education and cultural exchange, the young reporters came prepared with plenty of questions! 🎤🎙️

The visit was a wonderful opportunity for cross-cultural learning, meaningful conversations and sharing perspectives, reminding us that children and young people can build bridges across countries through curiosity, communication and friendship.

What began with conversations and reflections came together into a shared sense of direction for the journey ahead. The meeting gave the team space to question, rethink, listen to different perspectives and imagine new possibilities for Butterflies and the children we work with.

It was also a time to connect as a team, welcome new colleagues and strengthen the spirit of working together. Most importantly, we leave with new ideas, renewed enthusiasm and a stronger commitment to turn our collective thinking into meaningful action.

The planning may be over, but the real work begins now. “A shared commitment to children.”
