🚨 **JUSTICE FOR A STRAY DOG IN SIDDHARTHA EXTENSION** 🚨
This evening in Siddhartha Extension, Pocket C, a man was caught on video beating a defenceless stray dog with a stick. When the security guard witnessed the cruelty, he called the nearest feeder for help — and instead of stopping, the man, allegedly along with his parents, turned on the feeders, abusing and assaulting them. The feeders were forced to act in self-defence.
There are multiple witnesses to what happened. One of them has already called the police — and yet, hours later, there has been **no action.**
Cruelty to animals is a punishable offence under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, and assault on the residents who stepped in to protect the dog is a serious crime in its own right. Both must be answered for.
We are asking DelhiPolice to take immediate cognisance, register an FIR, and act on the complaint already lodged. The video and the witnesses are here. The law is clear. We are only asking that it be enforced.
🐾 Animals can’t speak for themselves. The people who do shouldn’t be beaten for it.
