Children can fall sick after sitting on the floor for long hours, espe
cially during winters. Allahabad High Court has already instructed government to ensure and improve basic facilities including furniture’s in primary and upper primary. Children’s right to quality education includes that they study in schools that have basic school facilities, despite of this children are bound to sit on floors in winters. This clearly confirms lack of determination for real progress and development of primary education and school. Due to poor infrastructural facilities in primary schools Uttar Pradesh is holding rank among top in average repetition and drop-out of students in primary level education. The main aim of this movement titled “Taat Patti Andolan - टाट पट्टी आंदोलन” is just to improve the infrastructural facilities of basic primary education and to assist is providing desk and benches to primary school children.
