We were just common people like everyone else. And then, the Kargil happened where many of our brave soldiers died, just because none of the governments thought Pak was a serious threat. The problem kept on increasing. Came and went "Parliament attack", "Akshardham attack", "Varanasi blasts", "Delhi blasts", and the list is endless. Thousands of common people died. But, the GOI was unaffected!! In

the mean time, another problem was taking shape, named "Maoists" and "Naxalites", thanks to some politicians and political parties. These parties were playing the role of "Pakistan" and helping grow "taliban" (naxalites). In the mean time, the terrorist activities grew and we held to the notion that we could be friends with Pakistan. Ceasefires were broken, bomb blasts took place, soldiers died, people died, governments changed, new terrorist groups came up, hindu terrorist groups came up, and GOI was still unaffected. As if, they were waiting for a Mohd-Ghaznavi-incident!! (for all those who don't know, it is said tghat Mohd Ghaznavi attacked Somnath temple to loot the gold and was defeated and captured and left by "forgiving" Hindu kings. Again he attacked and resulted similar. This happened 17 times. But Hindu kings still didn't learn from the mistakes. Finally, on the 18th time, he won the war!!) All of us bore Mumbai blasts, Kargil attack, Parliament attack, akshardham attack, Delhi blasts (many times), etc. But then came 26/11/2008. This time the water went above the head!!!! We thought that its high time we take steps. And then came Dantewada attack where 76 CRPF soldiers died in just one night!!!! And, to not only support our fellow citizens but also our forces, who fight and protect us in such extreme conditions, we decided to unite and form a force called "Citizen 4 Forces". We are not just young college-goers. We have, in our team people ranging from the age of 65 to an age of 19. So, we are not just a bunch of people who just sit on internet and keep liking pages. We are talking serious here!!! C4F believes that this is not the story of admins of this page or volunteers of C4F. Every Indian at some point of time, must have felt the same way. All of you must have thought that "this govt can do nothing", "this PM is impotent", "this party is corrupt", "that party is extremist", etc. We all know all this is true to some extent. But, now responsibility is ours. Lets for once, stop blaming and start doing. Lets for once, raise our voices and be united irrespective of caste, region or religion. LETS FOR ONCE, THINK ABOUT INDIA!!!!!

RIP
You will be missed for your incisive, unsentimental analysis of geopolitics and military history, always grounded in India’s national interest.

Your blend of academic rigour and operational clarity distinguished you from the rest.
You never sensationalised conflict nor trivialised it, instead distilled complex military strategy and security challenges with honesty and intellectual discipline.

In an era of noisy, partisan strategic commentary, your calm authority and ability to break down a complex subject without ideological clutter will be hugely missed
A true soldier/scholar.
India’s strategic community today, is poorer without you.

🟥On This Day in History: December 16 The Day of Pakistan’s Surrender of 93,000 Troops to Bangladesh and a Historic Humiliation

Today marks December 16, a date etched in history. On this day in 1971, after a nine-month-long and bloody war, Pakistan’s military accepted surrender and laid down its arms. According to estimates by the Bangladeshi authorities, nearly three million innocent people were killed during the conflict.

When a new state called Pakistan declared independence on August 14, 1947, it consisted of two wings: West Pakistan and East Pakistan (present-day Bangladesh). For 24 consecutive years, the western wing imposed political, economic, linguistic, and military oppression on the eastern wing, pushing the Bengali population to the limits of endurance and ultimately forcing them to rise for independence.

Despite East Pakistan having the majority of the population, political power remained concentrated in West Pakistan. In the 1970 general elections, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Awami League won a clear majority, but the military establishment and Islamabad refused to accept the results.

Although Bengalis were the majority, Urdu was imposed as the sole national language. In 1952, students protesting this policy were killed by Pakistani forces. While most national revenues were generated in East Pakistan, development and investment were directed toward West Pakistan, deliberately keeping Bangladesh underdeveloped.

Under various operations, the Pakistani army killed civilians, students, and intellectuals, resulting in the deaths of millions. Millions more were forced to flee to India, and thousands of Bangladeshi women were subjected to sexual violence.

Following this prolonged oppression, Bangladesh declared independence under the leadership of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 26, 1971. Pakistan launched a military crackdown, leading to nine months of intense warfare. Nearly three million Bangladeshis were killed, and ten million were displaced. India supported Bangladesh, and ultimately, on December 16, 1971, in Dhaka, 93,000 Pakistani troops surrendered, with the instrument of surrender signed by General A.A.K. Niazi.

This remains the largest military surrender since World War II and is regarded as a profound humiliation in Pakistan’s history.

From its inception to the present day, Pakistan has continued similar policies toward its own people and neighboring regions. These policies have severely damaged Pakistan’s credibility domestically, regionally, and internationally, forcing it to pay long-term costs for short-term gains. The pattern of discrimination and repression has not ended, and many observers believe that Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may one day follow Bangladesh’s path.

On 26/11/2008, as Mumbai burned under a brutal terror attack, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan went up those stairs at the Taj hotel in Mumbai knowing exactly what waited above. “Don’t come up, I will handle them”. His last words, his final act of courage. He stood between India and terror, and gave everything so others could live.

Heroes like him are the reason we stand safe today. Never forget. Never forgive.
