Ask a woman at the Sakhi Utpadan production unit what she does here, and she’ll walk you over to her machine.
She’ll show you how it runs, why this batch came out better than the last one, and which parts she cleans herself at the end of a shift. If she’s been here a while, she’ll point out the women she trained.
Fifty-two women run five production units at Sakhi Utpadan Samiti of namkeen, pulses, spices, oil, pickles, and millet.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll introduce you to them in a series we’re calling Stories of Firsts.

On June 20th, Sakhi Utpadan Samiti was invited to attend KisaanSay Samagam 2026 at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi.

🌾The event brought together farmers from 25 FPCs across 9 states alongside policymakers, food scientists, and agricultural practitioners with conversations centred on FPO strengthening, post-harvest processing, and building direct farmer-to-consumer value chains.

We are proud to share that Sakhi Utpadan Samiti and KisaanSay are working together on clean label standards bringing greater transparency and trust to what farmers grow and what consumers receive.

Thank you to the KisaanSay team for the invitation and for builiding a platform where farmers, policymakers, and practitioners can shape the future of food together. 🤝 👩‍🌾

The Sakhi artisans just added another feather to their cap. 👩‍🍳🌾

We’re excited to announce the launch of our Millet Cookie Production Unit at Railmagra, Rajsamand under the Sakhi Utpadak Samiti initiative, inaugurated in the presence of Independent Directors of HZL, Mr. Anoop Kr. Mittal and Dr. Aruna Sharma.

Trained end-to-end in formulation, baking, quality control, and packaging, our artisans are already in full production with three delicious variants:

🌿Millet Jaggery Cookies
🌶️Masala Millet Cookies
🌾Millet Jaggery Oat Cookies

Gluten-free, nutrient-rich, and made with real intention.
