They have a clear vision.
A great leader knows exactly where he wants his team to go. He's able to articulate a vision that inspires his employees to work together toward a common goal.

They know how to motivate people.
Leaders who are able to motivate their teams are able to make sure everyone is pulling their weight. This means that they're able to identify strengths and weaknesses among their staff members and use those strengths to help each individual reach their full potential.

They are able to communicate effectively with their team.
Effective communication skills are essential for any leader. It's not enough to just tell people what to do; leaders must also be able to explain why something needs to be done. If you're leading a group, you need to be able to clearly articulate how the goals will benefit the entire team.

They are able to lead by example.
Leaders who are able to motivate others through their own actions are known as role models. Role models are often seen as inspirational figures because they demonstrate the behaviors we wish to emulate. In addition to being inspiring, role models should also be trustworthy, honest, and ethical.

They are able to delegate responsibility.
One of the qualities of a good leader is the ability to delegate responsibility. This means that leaders must be willing to let go of control and allow other people to take charge of certain tasks. If a leader does not trust his or her team members enough to give them the freedom to make decisions, then he or she will never be successful.
