June 6th, 2026

Students-youth in large numbers turned to Jantar-Mantar on 6 June against the continuing series of paper leaks and exam irregularities, demanding the resignation of union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Disha Students’ Organization along with various other organizations and individuals also joined the protest demonstration in solidarity with the issues of the students and the youth.

This protest came, called by the 'Cockroach Janta Party', after paper leaks on a massive scale over the past years under fascist BJP-RSS regime and a widespread anger and discontentment against the current regime is clear. Last month, the news of NEET paper leak shook the country and a number of students, who had been preparing for months had their dreams crushed. Some even took their own lives. But if this was not enough, CBSE OSM marking scam added salt to the injury of the common-students youth. From university entrance exams to recruitments exams, this government has only destroyed the future of the common students and the youth for the sake of the profit of their capitalist masters and contractors.

For instance, Globarena Technologies which was given contract for the OSM marking by the CBSE under MOE this year, has a very vulnerable track record as similar large-scale discrepancies had been recorded in Telangana inter-mediate public results also back in 2018. But thanks to the governments’ full commitment to these contract companies, this very Globarena Technologies company was awarded with another huge contract instead of having any action taken against it for its previous misconducts. Such is the attitude of this regime for the common students and the youth of our country. And not just them, when workers came out on the streets demanding such basic rights as a livable wage, payment of overtime at double rate as a result of the backbreaking inflation and attack on workers' right, the fascist BJP everywhere by brutally repressing them and illegally incarcerating the workers and anyone who stood in solidarity with them. Three members of Disha Students' Organisation - Yogesh, Himanshu, Akriti - along with five other activists(Sristhi, Manisha, Rupesh, Aditya, Satyam) have been illegally arrested by the UP police precisely for standing in solidarity with the workers of Noida. Indeed, the fascists have even invoked NSA against two of them - Akriti and the senior journalists and translator, Satyam Verma.

The response of the fascists at helm, like the Queen Marie Antoinette in France, to the suffering of the people that their own workings have caused is - "sab changa si", "melody khao, khud jaan jaao". And if anyone dares to resist, their response is brutal repression, false cases and illegal arrests.

This is the context in which the phenomenon of the 'Cockroach Janta Party' must be situated, when all previous records of unemployment are broken during this regime of fascist Modi government as the estimated numbers of unemployed people have risen around 32 crore, when economic crisis has led to the worsening condition of each section of the people of our country, when the inflation is increasing to unprecedented levels.

The CJP, it is true, has raised a very important issue of paper leaks in the country and they deserve the appreciation for their unique attempts to corner the government and ask for their accountability on a very pressing immediate issue. However, their charter of demands suffers from some shortcomings - it does not, for instance, include the demands of the toiling masses of our country who are facing the dual attack of inflation and state repression, it does not yet go to the root of the problem and question the capitalist system itself. Besides, the charter calls for the arrest of the Chief Election Commissioner under UAPA. While the Commissioner must indeed face the most strict punishment, to call for invocation of UAPA against him validates this draconian law, born out of the colonial legal tradition, which serves only to crush democratic voices and to repress.

Members of Disha Students’ Organization addressed small gatherings during the protest today and expressed their solidarity and commitment for the common issues of students-youth through graffiti, songs, slogans and placards. We demanded the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan and appealed to students-youth to stay united for our common demands. Indeed, Disha Students' Organization has always staunchly struggled against the anti-student and youth fascist BJP and it's policies. Even in 2024, after various exam leaks, Disha Students’ Organization took a countrywide months long campaign and raised the demand of the scrapping NTA and had staged a huge demonstration in Delhi to which the Delhi police had responded with brutal repression. And student activists like Yogesh, Himanshu, Srishti and Akriti, who under illegal imprisonment today were at the forefront.

Members of Disha said that it is the staunch unity of the common masses that haunts the fascist BJP-RSS the most. We emphasised upon the need to build a mass movement around our common issues - employment guarantee to all, free and equal education, free and accessible healthcare and transparency in public examinations etc. as one day protest demonstrations are not enough. Heeding the call of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh's call, Disha Students' Organisation will continue to resolutely fight for the students-youth of our country and will continue to stand in resolute solidarity with struggling masses everywhere.

Yesterday, Disha Students’ Organization held a protest demonstration at the Arts Faculty against the illegal abduction and arrest of Yogesh Meena by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force.
Yogesh Meena, a former SRCC student is currently pursuing his LLB from CLC. He was not just a brilliant, meritorious student, but a committed, sensitive, justice loving citizen who believed that one's education is meaningless if not put in the service of transforming society.
On 30 May, 2026, he was abducted by UP Police personnel from Ramjas College's vicinity along with another student, Sameer Kumar for their vocal criticism of state repression meted out on workers in Noida.
During the protest demonstration, Naureen from CaRWAN addressed the gathering emphasising on the entire Noida workers' issue, explaining how the rights of students and workers are constantly under attack. Rauf, from Disha Students' Organization pointed out that Yogesh is not the first victim of this witch-hunt; in fact, two bright and studious History students from the university— Akriti Chaudhary and Himanshu Thakur have already been jailed for the more than 45 days. Yogesh is the eighth such activist to be falsely implicated in the case by the UP Police among. Revolutionary songs were sung and speakers from other progressive organizations- AIDSO, AISA, AISF and BSCEM too, expressed their solidarity and condemned the ongoing witch-hunt of student activists. Pamphlets were distributed to common students; and a copy of a memorandum demanding University's immediate intervention and Yogesh's release was submitted to the Dean.
Disha Students' Organization urges that the Vice Chancellor of the University take immediate action because one of their own students was picked up from the university campus without any formal procedure. Yogesh, whose exams were going on and are still pending, is being targeted and his future ruined by UP police. The VC must challenge this arrest and stand with the University's students.

Revoke NSA from Aakriti!

Release all students, activists, and workers implicated in false charges in Noida!!

Today pamphlets were distributed among the first-year students of Campus Law Centre, DU. Students were made aware of the development taking place in the Noida workers' strike case whereby the fascist Yogi government has waged a rampaging witch-hunt against students and activists, who stood in support of the just demands of the workers. Despite no evidence against Aakriti and Himanshu of Disha Students' Organization and various other activists, the UP police has continued their unjust imprisonments made after illegal arrests.

Students were also informed of yet another shameful act of UP police to impose NSA upon Aakriti and Satyam Varma, a senior journalist, despite having no evidence against them but only to prolong their unjust imprisonment.

Students met during the campaign were appealed to raise their voices against this injustice and blatant attack on democratic rights of the working masses by the fascist Yogi government.

We also appeal to you to come forward and demand the release of Aakriti, Himanshu, all activists and workers implicated in false charges in Noida : https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1FAIpQLSerCCMb6bepRVbJwftDbufwudCYq7EFaR3u3fa49UfxmDX4Uw/viewform

28/05/2026

For more than a month now Aakriti and Himanshu of Disha Students' Organization along with several social activists, intellectuals and many workers remains behind bars in Noida, UP under the false charges and cases imposed upon them by the fascist Yogi government and UP Police dancing to its tunes. They are made to "pay" for breaking silence over injustice. They are being "taught a lesson" for upholding the revolutionary legacy of Bhagat Singh, for taking side with the masses.

After instigating violence - as many news reports hints at now- in the Noida Strike organized in April this year, the UP police has conspiratorially implicated Aakriti and Himanshu (former students of Delhi University, Satyam Varma (a senior journist and editor to the collected writings of Bhagat Singh and his comrades), Aditya Anand (a software engineer and social activist), Srishti Gupta (a brilliant artist), rupesh Roy (an Auto driver and social activist), Manisha (a textile worker in Noida), along with several workers the exact numbers of which are still not definite.

Unable to produce even a single piece of evidence against any of the mentioned activists, the UP police, under the aegis of the fascist Yogi government working tirelessly to protect the interests of the capitalist class, had now imposed the National Security Act upon Aakriti and Satyam Varma. What tragedy can bypass this: that the upholders of the legacy of Bhagat Singh, Aakriti and Satyam Varma, have been termed a "threat to the nation" by the fascist Yogi government, the forefathers of which sided with the British colonizers and now leaves no stone unturned to exploit the working masses and brutally crush hard-won democratic rights of the masses?

We appeal to all progressive students, intellectuals, and conscientious citizens to come forward against this brutal repression of students, intellectuals, activists, and workers in Noida.

We also appeal to you to go through the link to contribute, in whatever way you can, towards this struggle for the release of students, activists, and workers:

‘Eid-ul-Adha’ falls on May 28th this year and is an officially gazetted holiday—a public holiday declared by the government. Despite this, the Delhi University has scheduled exams for several courses on this very day. Irony died a thousand deaths when a memorandum was issued on May 25th by the University’s General Branch, notifying that Delhi University will also observe the holiday on the 28th instead of the 27th and all its offices and institutions shall remain closed. However, under the memorandum was a note stating that exams will be taking place as per the schedule itself. Then what exactly is the point of a public holiday or the memorandum when the students have to appear for an exam?

The fascist RSS-BJP has a mastery over turning festivals into means for communal polarization and engineering communal disharmony, and this is precisely the reason why this fascist regime in various states such as Haryana had removed the festival of Eid from the public holiday list itself last year. But the fascist pe*******on even in the DU Administration is increasingly becoming evident now as it has joined in the fascist campaign of systematic othering of the Muslim community by targeting their faith and festivals in order to strengthen the ideological community in contrast to the ideological other figure, i.e., the false enemy.

What is also noteworthy is that the end-semester datesheets for May-June 2026 examinations were released exceptionally late this time across many departments and colleges. The question remains: by addressing such serious issues in such a flippant manner— or remaining completely indifferent to them— why is the administration's attitude becoming increasingly anti-student.

Disha Students' Organization condemns this mischievous communal attitude of the DU administration and demands that the examination on the 28th be rescheduled as per the convenience of the students and that the exam date sheet must be prepared taking such genuine concerns into consideration.
