Rampur, Uttar Pradesh: The Johar Trust has approached the Allahabad High Court challenging the Rampur administration’s order to demolish 38 buildings at Mohammad Ali Jauhar University. The legal move comes after the district administration directed the university management to remove the structures, alleging they were constructed without approved building plans.

According to reports, Rampur District Magistrate Ajay Kumar Dwivedi issued the demolition order on July 15, 2026, granting the university management 20 days to comply. The administration claimed that the buildings were built without obtaining the necessary approvals.

In response, the Johar Trust has filed a petition before the High Court seeking relief against the demolition order. The matter is now scheduled to be heard by the court.

Meanwhile, students and representatives of Mohammad Ali Jauhar University have intensified their protests against the proposed demolition. They submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate, urging the administration to halt the bulldozer action and protect the university campus. Demonstrations have continued as students demand a fair resolution through legal and constitutional means.

The case has sparked political attention in Uttar Pradesh, with the legal battle and ongoing protests expected to remain in focus until the High Court delivers its decision.
