Staying Connected: Parent Counseling at Prabhat

Our support for children doesn't end when they graduate from the Prabhat mobile school. This week, we connected with 4 mothers whose children have transitioned into MCD schools, checking in on their progress and offering guidance to help them settle in.

These conversations help us understand each child's journey beyond the classroom and let parents know we're still walking alongside them. A small step, but one that keeps the support system strong.

A Wonderful Day of Learning and Friendship! 🌋💙

Today, we were delighted to welcome the students and teachers from Vidya Bharti School to the Society for Child Development.

The students brought an exciting live Volcano Science Project, where they demonstrated how a volcano erupts. Our children watched the experiment with great curiosity and enthusiasm, making it a fun and educational experience for everyone.

The visit was filled with laughter, learning, meaningful interactions, and joyful moments as the students spent quality time together. It was heartwarming to see children learning from one another, sharing smiles, and creating beautiful memories.

A heartfelt thank you to the students and teachers of Vidya Bharti School for your thoughtful visit, inspiring presentation, and for making the day so special. We look forward to welcoming you again soon! ❤️

Today, our children at Prabhat Special School had a wonderful storytelling session conducted by Ms. Swetcha Pershad. She shared a beautiful story written by herself, followed by a fun and creative activity with the children.

The session was engaging, interactive, and brought smiles to many faces. We sincerely thank Ms. Swetcha Pershad and the volunteer team for spending their valuable time with our children and making the day special.

🌱 Turning Waste into Opportunity 🌱

At Avacayam, an initiative of Prabhat Society for Child Development, persons with disabilities are actively engaged in recycling and yarn-making activities.

In this picture, our artisans are operating a yarn-spinning machine and hand-weaving recycled fabric strips to create sustainable handmade products. Waste materials are carefully processed through the machine and transformed into yarn, which is then used to make eco-friendly products.

This process not only helps reduce waste but also provides meaningful employment, skill development, and greater independence for persons with disabilities.

Honoured and grateful

On 24-05-2026 (Sunday), Dr. Madhumita Puri Ma’am was honoured with a prestigious award by the Rotary Club of Delhi Central in recognition of her lifelong dedication to the field of disability and mental health. She worked nearly 9 years in the Genetics Unit in AIIMS Delhi, and shortly after that she founded Society for Child Development .india for children with intellectual disabilities. For the next 35 years she devoted her life to her work for people with disabilities.

Congratulations to Dr Madhumita Puri.
